Your best weapon is your brain.. if that ain't sharp you can be armed with anything you like and still get your behind handed to you every time :p
Yes, good answer. Among handheld weapons I don't think there is any best overall weapon since all have some situation where they are completely or almost useless. Any rifle/SMG/LMG is useless against armor and any anti-armor weapon doesn't have enough ammo to be used regularly against infantry. If we restrict it to primary weapons then it's probably one of:
AK47: 3-hit kill vs. unarmored, 4-hits vs. armored, 1-hit headshot, plenty of ammo, pretty good long-range accuracy for sniping, full-auto + semi-auto
G3: as AK47 except a bit less accuracy and ammo but less recoil. (I don't count lack of GL against it since that is a kit limitation, not a weapon limitation.)
QBZ-97 or G36C: very good accuracy, low recoil, full-auto + semi-auto, but lower damage (4 hits unarmored, 6 armored, 2 head).
Those are the only ones I'd want if I had no good anti-infantry backup weapon (pistol/GL) and no teammates with different weapons.
AK101 has only 1 point less damage than AK47 but that's enough to add an extra hit required to kill an armored soldier. M16A2's low damage takes it out of the running even if it had full-auto: carbines do everything it can do, only better (again, GL is a feature of the kit, not the gun). L85 is basically a full-auto M16A2 with a scope. Sniper rifles and LMGs are not useful in as wide a variety of situations as these weapons so they can't really be the best weapon.

Wow, i always thought that they took the same amount of hits to an armored chest to take somebody down. But i see that you are right, i pulled out the calculator on the computer, and i did 37x.67, it turned into 24.79. So that means that it takes 5 hits, you're defintly right.
no you're missing the point, radar! its not about guns man, its about saving ppls freaking lives! these kids should be off stealing kisses at the barn dance, bobbing for apples or playing baseball! not dying in some god forsaken hell for a reason they dont understand!
