Re: The Squad that stays together, slays together.
This is why finding a group of people to regularly play with (i.e. a clan) is a valuable thing to do, since it increased the teamplay to 100% if you find the right bunch.
Re: The Squad that stays together, slays together.
I regularly lead a custom squad "Filthy Squad" and follow the points given earlier.
My general tactic is to race as quick as possible to the furthest enemy flag and get my squad to spawn there. In this way you can attack the enemy on two flanks, halving their ability to concentrate forces.
Allthough the squad leader generally scores low, nothing gladdens the heart than watching your fine body of men pouring it into a flag (get into a good position and record it on fraps). Saving Private Ryan has nothing on it.....
I generally play medic as SL. The idea is - act as spawn point - take flag - get in quick with revive for the fallen and med packs for the walking wounded (reduce ticket loss). Then get into a different position for the counter attack.
What i really hate is when BF2 switches you to the other side (autobalance). It should always swap lonewolfs first.
Re: The Squad that stays together, slays together.
I found a clan the other day, working as a squad, i joined it, and they woked brilliantly, i was supporting the guys, supplying ammo on request was very good, made the gamplay so much better. They were the SCS clan.

God damn it EA are you listening!!????
Would it matter if they were listening or not? You may as well ask Target or Wal-Mart if they're listening, since they have about as much to do with the coding of the game as EA does.

So, I suppose when you complain about something you bought from Target or Wal-Mart, you always go straight to the manufacturer?

Good luck with that system......
If I bought a Hoover vacuum cleaner from Target, and I'm having a problem with it, I'm not going to go to Target's website or call Target - I'm going to go to Hoover's website or call Hoover. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this would yield the best results. Try calling Target and telling them BF2's server browser sucks. See how far you get.

If you have started a squad, or find yourself leading a squad, you need to alter your playstyle. Here are a few suggestions.
1) No more hopping into jets, you are denying your team a respawn and failing to lead.
2) Call a target, use CAPSLOCK to bring up your order map, you DONT need to be the commander for this.
3) Think about your class. Support is the best class for a squad leader IMHO.
4) Lead from the rear. Seriously, let your teammates lead the advance and try and keep yourself alive, you are a rolling spawn point. Your death serves only the enemy.
i do exactly what you said day in day out and still get called a **** leader and punished for teamkills that are not my fault by my own squad.

I could reply with a well crafted point about distribution channels, there place in the value chain, there relevance to my previous point e.t.c But I decided that A) Off topic, B) Not funny C) This patient in my dentists chair is gonna wake up soon, and will be well p***ed if i haven`t even started his route canal filling!!!
So, I took a quick pull on the old gas & air and crafted the following:
Target Customer Services: Hello, your through to Maureen, how can I help you to day?
Filthy_UK: Hey, yeah, I bought this item from you in good faith, but its been nothing but trouble. I had trouble installing it, the supplied documentation is rubbish and the Sever Browser Sucks......
TCS: I`m sorry to hear that, what department did you purchase it from?
Filthy UK: I dunno, which department is responsible for selling unfinished beta products in order to boost profits?
TCS: Errrr.... is the product still under warranty?
Filthy_UK: Well, I`ve had to make two modifications to the item since I bought it and the manufacturer tells i`ve gotta patch it up again, but they dont know where its gotta go yet or when its gonna be ready. Would that normally affect the warranty?
TCS: The manufacturer told you to patch it up!!??? well that doesn`t seem very good does it?
Filthy_UK: Too frekin right lady!!!! "click"..............
