I have once before experienced this too, it was also on Sharqi. A TV missile got everybody that climbed into the Cobra on TV station. Alarm sounded immideately you climbed in and a second later you were history... I thought that enemy chopper was floating above, but I didn't see anyone. One thing was sure: It was tv missile alright that killed that Cobra. It was annoying as hell.

It is a hack. I'm not going to link to the website in which I read it, because the more people who know how to do it, the lamer the game will become. But it is indeed a cheat. I personally, that I'm aware of, have not experienced this yet.

I happened to stumple upon the place searching google for a answer to my connection problems. I bookmarked it just so I could keep an eye on what the cheating lamers are talking about though. It's funny to watch them cry when they get banned by PB though . Hopefully EA or PunkBuster will fix this problem.

P.S. Why can't I post to this website with Firefox!?

1. The hotel ("southern flag") Stinger can and will hit the Mi-28 as soon as it gets some height. It's not a cheat and it's not imbalanced.

2. I'm using firefox right now.

You will not get a warning when a hellfire is incoming. If it was beeping from the start either the middle AA or the hotel AA was locked onto you. The hellfire has a range of 600 meters which means that the Mi-28 could be taking you out from their helipad or from half across the map.

Hmm, maybe not Hellfire after all... But something was killing us... It only killed when someone entered the Cobra. Otherwise you could stand next to it unharmed and nobody killed you then. No one showed on UAV either...

If you don't believe me thats fine, but how do you think I found this thread? It was linked in a cheating forum, in a thread in-which they were discussing "Extended Lock-On Radius" and they were laughing about the thread here...

I was playing on Sharqi and I spawned at the bottom MEC start flag and hopped in the chopper.

As soon as I was in the air, I get the missile lock warning.

A few seconds later I'm dead.

So, I blow up the AA at our flag right before I get back in the chopper.

Same thing, so I fly along the road and hide behind the mountains.

Any time I went above the mountains, immediately I got the missile lock tone.

Is this some kind of hack or what? I don't think any of the AAs in the city could hit that area.

It's not a hack - it happened to me once too. This is the missile site near the hotel on the cost. It is a very lame game unblanace issue. I am hoping it will be fixed in patch 1.03. You can launch the missle at the chopper as soon as it's on the air even when the guy manning the SAM site can not see you. But of course the chopper isn't there for guys to score points without actually doing anything except pressing a button when seeing a triangle on the screen. This game is intended for a people older then 3 year old.
This is without a doubt an unbalanced feature which should be fixed on the next patch.

Yesh. Try it for yourselves guys. There are two stingers that can hit the US chopper on the pad and one that can hit the MEC chopper on the pad. I do this all the time when the choppers get to be a nuisance.

Even though you can't see the choppers at that distance the stingers will lock on so long as you point them in the right direction and someone is in the chopper (so the engine is running).

Again, it was the stinger at the southern flag. You can sit in it and point it in the direction of the US chopper spawn and as soon as someone gets in you'll get tone. Even though the chopper isn't in the air, you can still fire and knock it out. I do it all the time.

i got this weird thing happen on mashtuur...i was flying MI-8 and i got a locktone and i had several missiles coming for me...than when i died it sayed ????...???[Linebacker]Comrad_Joe
than i said WTF how is there a AA tank in mashtuur
so i think that was somesort of hack because nothing in that map can shoot over 4 rockets at once
