Re: A Chopper Pilot’s Guide to being a good gunner

98.2%? 1.8%? Jeez, keeping votes on your thread. Lame.

I just don't understand why people can't just accept everyone else in the map, some being better than you, some being worse, and just have some fun! It's only a f'ing game for christ sake!

I don't need people like you telling me how I should be playing the game. And I certainly don't need "shooting in the head" if I make the smallest of mistakes whilst playing it.

Lighten up, have some fun, and just try to let other people have fun too.

    It's a game, not a career. You're not a real helicopter pilot.

My apologies if I'm incorrect, but this just seems to be promoting the exact thing I hate about BF2.

Players who constantly whore the helicopters and jets are what's ruining this game for many people. The guys that stand around the helipad waiting for it to spawn whilst everyone else is getting pasted out in the field. The guys that scream "Bail out!" at you because they want to get their mate in. The guys that "warn" you off getting anywhere near the thing by shooting at your feet. The guys that shout "noob!" at you because you failed to avoid the kamikaze jet flying at you at 400mph.

Ya know, I went to college, so math isn't real hard for me. Also, hitting Windows Key-R, typing in CALC, then typing in 167 / 170 wasn't real time consuming either.

You failed to see the humor in my post, and now you're taking everything I said literally. Join the other 98% of the people in this thread and just sit back, enjoy the humor and move on.

I'm not TELLING you how to the play the game. I'm pointing out tips on how to be a BETTER gunner. If ya read my post, it's all common sense things that make a better chopper crew. Yeah, once again, you missed the humor in my post, where most EVERYONE else got it. *sigh*

Actually, I've had my private pilot's license since I was 16, and the helocopter add on type rating since 19. None of that applies to BF2, but nice job assuming...

What part of my post talks about whoring the chopper?? You're so way off base here it is just retarded. I believe that everyone should wait their turn to get in vehicles. If you go up to the pad and people are waiting, I believe you should go do something else, not whore the chopper, or any other vehicle.

So now you're telling people how to play the game. So it's ok for you to TELL people how to play the game and it's not ok for me to SUGGEST some tips on how to be a better gunner. Nice job being a hypocrit.

The problem here is very very simple. You sir, have no sense of humor. You're the one taking this sh!t too seriously. Since you can't handle humor, I cleaned up the post JUST FOR YOU :) You can check that out HERE. Ya see, even tho I think you are a complete tool for having no sense of humor, I still want you to have a pleasurable forum experience :)

This guide made the game more fun for me because it helped me become a better pilot/gunner. I feel this game is more fun when I do better. Maybe thats just me but getting in the chopper and killing 5 or more tanks before I die is more fun and more beneficial to my team.

And you guys still dont see the humor?

Re: A Chopper Pilot’s Guide to being a good gunner

In that case, I would suggest you dig out your license and see how to spell it properly. Also would have assumed that someone keen enough to get their pilots license would list that as an interest in their profile.

I'm not telling people how to play the game at all... I'm just merely pointing out what annoys me, and in my opinion, spoils BF2 completely.

On reading your original post, it came across that is exactly the way you play. Shoot people for getting in the drivers position... leave people for dead if they jump out to capture a flag... shout at someone for firing the cannon 10 seconds too early when coming up to someone.
That's not tips on how to be a better gunner, thats telling people how you expect them to play.

If that is not the case, then my apologies.

That seems to be pretty clear to me.

My bad, I thought this was a BF2 forum not a friggin spelling bee.

OH SWEET, you checked out my profile!! I'm sorry I didn't list aviation, my pilot's license, and EVERYTHING else I do in my profile to validate myself to everyone else on the forum. Yeah, that's what I should do...

Did I mention I like playing table tennis too? Maybe I should put that in my profile. Or maybe I should list my interests in reading Military Non Fiction books too. I just got done reading Black Hawk Down, The Battle of Mogadishu, and Prisoners of Hope. All great books, you should give them a try.

Anything else you would like to know? Toothpaste I use? How many times a day I shower, etc??

It's awesome that your opinion is more valid than mine.

Yeah, cuz the disclaimer at the top wasn't enough to lead you to believe the sarcasm in my post was just that. SARCASM

SARCASM once again. You fail at reading comprehension.

That's my opinion on what a gunner needs to do, to be succesful. Just like it is your opinion that people chopper whoring annoys you.

Re: A Chopper Pilot’s Guide to being a good gunner

Thanks for the great guide Strega. I'm a raw beginner when it comes to piloting a copter and I'm only a little better at the gunner's seat, but your guide makes perfect sense to me. I wish more pilots would realize how much more deadly they could be if they played with your attitude of being there to work as a team.

                Great job!:salute:

Re: A Chopper Pilot’s Guide to being a good gunner

Thanks, Strega. Mostly stating the obvious but its always good to get comfirmation. Just wish I could regularly get a good pilot to practice with. Saying that it seems much rarer to get a good gunner, so thanks for attempting to rectify that.

I enjoyed the read. It was funny, and I would love it if every pilot/gunner could do all these things.
