why don't you go have a nice tall glass of "SHUT THE HELL UP"

A bit late on, but I enjoyed the guide thoroughly, including the humoured arrogance, keep it up and consider writing some other guides.

        Hey strega,

Hit me with a pm telling me what servers you play on, I need a teacher.. Im awsome with the tv missiles, I still miss but usually if I have a good pilot I wont. Love the guide and to the flammer **** off if you dont like what hes reading goto another post simple as that this guy is trying to help people out with suggestions.

I however would like a guide on using the damn gun on the heli cause I can over heat, burst, single and I rarely hit a person, I usualy switch to tv's and nail them .. Dont know what im doing wrong but I WATCh the bullets hit him, around him and it seems like it does nothing. I spent like 2 min trying to kil this guy sniping off our base in this one game and this pilot and I knew each other so he was getting a laugh but I couldnt kill him with the gun at all, SO we ran him over with the helo.

Anyways tips are welcome and i would love to get in a helo with you and im not bad of a pilot as well pretty aggresive. TOO PILOTS PAY ATTENTION TO THE GUNNERS LITTLE SQUARE TRY TO KEEP THAT SQAURE iN the MIDDLE. See what he sees.

Re: A Chopper Pilot’s Guide to being a good gunner

@ iconix: when you are the gunner and try to shoot a trooper till your gun is overheated and the trooper is still alive. It means you have used your hellfire. Come again?... well it's like this:

you look to your right with your gun... you switch to tv guided to get a tank or whatever... then you switch back to the gun, wich is pointing to the right... however... the server thinks you have it pointed to the front. your visual will be hitting the target but the server registers it as shooting at a total different spot. the solution: point your gun to all the 4 corners you can point... then the server and the client are 1 again...

          hope its clear now :)

Read understood and appreciated to be honest mate.
Slightly patronising but still an informative post that will help out lots of peeps i'm sure whether they admit it or not.

There are odvious experts in all classes and i applaud any of those that take the time to pass on and help others with tips and info.
There was enouth truth and humour there to not pi55 me off.

I consider myself to be competant at all classes except flying. For me i just don't get the same buzz unless i am at eye level when i kill. So i have left the flying to others that enjoy it.
I do like the Gunners chair if theres a good pilot about. Recently some Euro dude flew me the whole round and we had a ball. I am very verbal and always Squad up with the pilot as soon as i hit the chair. After ten mins or so of me screaming ENEMY CHOPPER SPOTTED ENEMY TANK SPOTTED i got a bit paranoid.
So i says to euro dude hey man sorry, i get a bit involved and carried away i will tone it down a bit.
Straight away this dude Shouts back. NO NO NO. I have been waiting for a verbal gunner to spot since the game came out m8 you carry on its gr8.
Same when i am commander. I am very verbal immedietly issuing my plans for attack and telling all which flags are round winners.

Anyways i hope i get the chance to chair for you sometime strega as i am sure you will not be dissapointed by our partnership.
Thanks again for the post. Good effort.

                Love it.

Not only have I learned quite a bit about how to be a better gunner, I've also had a laugh and learned two great new online acronyms: FFS and KIN.

KIN good job Malc & Strega.

Admin: Make this thread a sticky FFS!

                Cheers,

I registered for these forums to reply to this thread

                          1. I like the OP's style. What war movie with ppl in boot camp doesn't have the maniac trainer talking about shooting troops for being dumb?

                          2. Now can someone post a black hawk pilot's guide to maximize your gunners' ability to get killed?

                          3. Then can someone post a guide for black hawk passengers to best help the pilot do (2) above?

Just to say i used these tips to great effect last night.
I ran towards a chopper waving my spanner and off we went. Once in the chair i immedietly invited so we had comms and off we set.
Basically i spent the whole round in the chair slaughtering everything. Never firing mini gun until i had my TV out. Comms were very verbal from me. Its was Kin great.

I spent 1 full round in the chair and got my Air service ribbon. Nice.
                            So thanks again Strega.

my gunner got 98 on a ranked server playing wake island last night.

we wasted many full blackhawks coming off the carrier, lol.
