    A Special Ops Wish

I wish as the Spec Ops Kit you had the ability to set multiple c4 charges in different locations and trigger each individual c4 charge with a different frequency on your detonator. Each charge would show up on your screen with a number above it and the detonator would have a dial with each corresponding number (use mouse scroll perhaps to cycle through all available frequencies). This way you could set a bunch of charges in strategic locations and not have to worry about blowing up friendly assets to detonate a charge intended to destroy an enemy asset.

I see this as the biggest fault for the Spec Ops kit, as you typically have to drop your c4 in place, then run and hide in wait for an enemy, detonate the charge, and repeat the steps. Also, if you miss your target with the first charge, your screwed. Perhaps this would be a good mod or even an update to the game's content if EA and Dice would venture to expel the effort do do such a thing.

    Thoughts?

Sounds good i've always wanted to lay a line of c4 along a road and detonate 1 by 1 by 1.

What ****es me off is when I C4 a flag, then have a golden opportunity to sneak up on a tank and C4 it. Boom. I get the tank but it's usually followed by a few teamkills.

This is how it is with the Battlefield series (at least, BF2 and BFV). I doubt it'll change, unless a mod team comes up with an ingenious idea.

ok triggering one by one is a good idea .. but picking up would be far more usefull .. sometimes .. I lay down C4 .. and time flies .. and I'm moving towards next flag .. I drop there some C4 on a vehicle or sth .. and then .. booom ..@ the old flag point (with some TKs if I'm fortunate enough) and offcourse the vehicle

picking up C4 would be really usefull

            bye

                  single triggers aren't possible currently.
the trigger-all command is apparently hard-coded into bf2 with no workaround or compromise available.
Its may be possible after the patch or the expansion but I doubt it...

Good idea, set a few traps on roads and bottlenecks only for the C4 to be spotted, be good to pick the charges up again and move on, and if I could move on and set new charges that fire by another trigger I would'nt have to worry about the ones laid and maybe go back and see if they can be off any use later.

Good ideas, you convinced me, now EA/Dice have to listen.

                      Re: A Special Ops Wish

its sounds good, but without the ability to remove enemy c4, there will be c4 every single time you go to an enemy flag with nothing you can do about it as the aggressor, if spec ops could remove enemy c4 like engineers can do with enemy mines, then this would seemingly be ok.

                        Re: A Special Ops Wish

I think the best would be a solution where the detonator would have 5 leds,(each with a switch) which leds can be grey, green, or red. Each led corresponding to one c4 pack. When there is no c4 dropped all lights are grey, when there is 2 dropped, 2 is red, 3 is grey. Red means hitting the fire will detonate the pack(armed), green means c4 pack will not be detonated (safe) and you could switch between red and green with pressing and holding LMB and pressing corresponding weapon choice buttons (1-5). This would create an animation where the specops guy would raise his other hand to the detonator (to flip the switches). When you detonate some packs, all the remaining leds would switch to red automatically. If there are no remaining packs then if you have c4 it would be equipped otherwise main weapon would be equipped.
That modification would give functionality without taking away, so c4 could be used exactly the same way as it is now.
So theoretically placing 2 c4s to the road, and 3 to the flag, and hiding away:
you change to detonator (all 5 reds are red/all c4 will be detonated). You press and hold LMB, then press 3,4,5 and the (3th and 4th and 5th leds are switched to green/safe) Meaning hitting the fire will blow the 2 c4 on the road, (1st and 2nd leds become grey,3th, 4th, 5th become red) and immediately arming the other 3. You see a lone wolf coming by, so you press and hold LMB and press 4 and 5 after each other. (leds 4 and 5 become green/safe). When the guy reaches flag, you press fire. (detonating the 3rd pack, 3rd led becomes grey, 4th and 5th red). Suddenly a buggy storms in to the flag, you press fire and the remaining 2 c4s are blown up.
                        Understood? :)

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to code that????
                          Talk about complicated

Its a good idea but from a mod/coders point of view that is incredibly hard, if not impossible to write the code to make that idea fully functioning...

Yea its anouying seeing the perfect moment for C4 but you've placed it in 2 places which means u have to check if there isnt anybody near the other C4 pack but checking can also mean your cover blown it has happened only all to often when a sniper comes and blasts a head shot then u say "AGH sh*t i nerly had u" thats one missed moment with C4. overall i agree on the C4 having a single trigger for each C4.:)

I think its a bit off that the spec ops get C4 whenthey really should get the claymore, also the claymore should have a trip whire or a remote. The c4 should goto the engineer. And for the sniper,.......a string with cans full of rocks so he can hear if the enamy are near by. well maybe not. lol
