No, it would be more like saying you upgraded from a cup of water to 10 gallons of water, because AMD is faster when compared to comparable (price-wise) Intel processors in terms of gaming performance.
The colder a processor is, the faster it can potentially go.
This is actually correct. To elaborate, the faster rpm drives do spin faster, but each cylinder (unit of data, for all intents and purposes) is longer, so the platter has to rotate more in order for the head to read it, and so the average latency is the same as a lower rpm drive. In addition, because each track is longer, you can't fit as much on it, which is why all the high rpm drives have such low capacity.
The FX-55 would obviously do better because the games were made for an FX-55. Dual core is an emerging technology, so very few games have taken advantage of the multithreading that they provide, but now that the two leading processor manufacturers both have dual core models, newer games will be built to take advantage of it, and older games will be updated.
