      Re: Alienware Computer

If you were gong to buy an alienware then you've obviously got a fair amount of money to spend. i would suggest a 64bit athlon cpu with a leading mboard manufacturer like asus or abit, etc. It is really up to you wether you get an ATI or Nvidia card. They both have strengths and weknesses over each other. An Antec case would look good and they are very good quality. The bottom line is to shop around and do your homework on what you are going to buy. Read online reviews of the parts and how they compare to similar items, etc.

My advice would be to not get the very latest technnology that has only just come out because it will be overpriced and they usually have a lot of teething problems with brand new tech. wait for the second or third generation of things.

Good luck and i wish i had the money for a new comp

          Re: Alienware Computer

i'm sure other large online comp stores will let you do the same thing. some of them let you pick all of the parts and they just build it for you and send it to you.

CPU is also easy... generally it brings a brief of procedure.
In case of difficulties, post here and someone will help.
There's alot of guys out there able to do it.

I just built you a pretty damn good Dell comp for $2500, rival the alienware no worries.

www.meshcomputers.com, if any of the English want far better PC's than Alienware.

I would also like to add that Alienware is a great brand
with quality, brand name components inside. Very clean internally [wires]
and cooling is great. With enough money invested, performance is tops.

But as everyone knows you're paying for the brand as said many times.

Just build your dream Alienware at the site, then price your components
from that at online retailers and price search engines to see the difference.
I'd say the hardest thing to get would be a stunning case you love, with airflow
and performance to match. Everything else is mostly widely available.

You don't want to do a monthly payment plan for a computer. You'll end up paying more than the already marked-up price, and you'll still be paying for it years down the road when it's obsolete and you'll probably have a new one by then.

But anyways, check out http://www.newegg.com if you wish to build your own. It's really not as hard as it seems. I thought it would be a daunting task my first time, but I managed it with no problem and without anyone's personal help.
