Sry if this was covered. Opened Bf2 5 minutes ago and tried to join a ranked server and it said my cd key was in use and that i should contact EA. Is this a glitch? Should i wait a couple of days? Any advice would be helpful.

Re: CD key hijacked
It's more likely that its a glitch. Did you just leave another server before you joined that one? I remember with BF42 I got that error sometimes, try clearing your browser cache and cookies and temp files, restart your computer and try to join a server again. -
Re: CD key hijacked
It may be just a glitch as I've had it happen to me as well. It happened just the once, so I logged out of the game, re-booted the PC and then all was good to go again.Originally posted by Jon773Sry if this was covered. Don't ever give your CD key, user ID or password to anybody else and don't save your password on your PC. Make sure it's something you can remember, but difficult enough for anybody else to guess....just as an added precaution.Comment

Re: CD key hijacked
A friend of mine downloaded an illegal copy of BF2 with a key gen and he got that error sometimes if the player with the original key he was trying to use was online... I should think it works both ways. If someone with an illegal copy had generated your key and was online then you wouldnt be able to join.
.... I think... I could be way off here though.Comment

Re: CD key hijacked
This has also happened to me. It happens when you disconnect, or are disconnected, or drop to desktop and your 'ghost' remains on the server. Other people remaining on that server can still see your name on the player list, but you're long gone.
If you try and join any server while your 'ghost' is still 'alive' you will get that error.
If you wait, it goes away.

Re: CD key hijacked
happened to me.
what happened was i bought the game from eB games and what i didn't know was i was buying a PRE-PLAYED game! i contacted ea about this and they asked me a bunch of information and they guy on the phone told me to look at the receipt (glad i kept it, btw) and i was surprised that i bought a pre-played game!
screw eb games!
anyway, i scanned my receipt and then sent it together with the manual to ea hq at cali and 10 days later, got my new cd-key. they emailed it to me and i was told my new manual with the emailed cd-key will arrive in a few days.
so, email ea techsupport, do what i did and you'll be just fine. in the meantime, spend 22 bucks on a new cd-key on ebay (i could give you the guy's ebay id. he's legit. i bought mine from him 'cos i couldn't wait for ea to send me the new one. also, about 50 or so other ppl have bought keys from him. let me know if you want me to look up his ebay id) so you can still play the game while waiting for ea.
good luck!Comment
