This is annoying answering so many dumn questions and comments. Anyway, no however if you where stat padding yes.

Using a bh or w/e is not stat padding. Two guys ****ing each others brains out with ammo bags is.

Perhaps you're missing my point, which I didn't think I needed to expound upon, but evidently I do. The only thing that makes my 377 round score in that hour and a half or so 'legit' is the fact that I said "Hey, I played to win." That doesn't change the fact that anyone who so desired could get their buddies together, hop in a chopper, fly to a high altitude where no one could screw with them, and proceed to dump all sorts of ammunition and point farm with the support class or what have you.

Now, considering the guys in my chopper were throwing grenades, dropping mines, and the occasional C4 over to kill people as we grabbed points and destroy anything that would try to take the flag back later, I'm sure the 'point farming' my support class guy was doing was right up there on the level of someone doing what I suggested above.

Now, for the 20,000 dollar question - how in the hell could EA possibly know the difference?

The game is fun because it is so open-ended. But there is a large amount of exploitation that can take place within. If EA wants to do something about it, setting some verbal 'policy' is usually the stupid way that just moves things to the underground or unadvertised. People are always going to 'cheat' if they choose to leave the mechanism that allows it in the game.

(EA please reset everyones stats as they're all padding by repeatedly killin me, must be cheatin, surely I can't die that often without having a clue as to how. Especially as all I wanted to do was stoll around minding me own business, watch the planes fly by and listen to the disturbed birds take wing)

I think it's pretty sad. He did put a crap load of effort into this game and now I am a higher rank than he is because of that reset. I liked the 3 way fight for first between exp.elektric, [TR]Dissb (I played with this guy, best US player apparently, or one with most free time:p ), and >broggi<. They were the only ones with over 100k for a while, now it's a 2 man fight. I find it much less interesting because the next people have thousands fewer points than the 3 of them did. Plus, put yourself in his situation. You spent easily 5 hours a day on BF2 since it came out and then you lose it all for some reason that's probably just stupid. Way uncool by whoever reset his stats.

regardless...how can EA justify erasing 105,000 points because 2-3,000 of them came from "knife/pistol/defib" servers?

How can they justify it? Simple, he exploited and it doesnt matter if he did it for 20 points or not he still did it.

Its makes no difference to me if he got erased or not but I do like how EA was willing to do it, shows they are cracking down on some of the stat padders

Who the hell cares! The guy himself doesn't give a toss either, and to be honest neither would I these days. Most of the unlocks are dissapointing, the rank only works for becoming Commander and even then it seems to only work on the first round. As soon as some decent mods appear, bog standard BF2 will be just a memory.

Bring on the mods. (FH2 and DC in particular )

not goin to spend my time readin all that thread but seein all that pages i just think, why does ppl cares so much about stats? but thats not the question the question is: why does ppl cares so much about others stats? damn i dont get it..only answer i get for myself its for the unlocks... why should i mind havin a virtual badge?
