Re: is anyone else tiring of this game?

Having a group of people of like minds to game with takes the cake. Playing for rank and stats is ok somewhat, but generally tends to take the fun out it IMHO. As a responsible adult, I have a limited amount of time to game each week. For me, it's impossible to enjoy alone. I play with a clan that is made up of people who use teamwork, ignore the politics of running a clan, get along with each other, largely ignore personal stats, and focus on winning the round. To me, high stats mean you have plenty of time on your hands to commit to gaming. It doesn'talways mean that you are a better player. Winning the map means you have embraced the concept of the game, accepted it's flaws, utilized it's muti-faceted functionality, and over came the enemy. To me, that never gets boring. You are sure to get tired of the game playing alone.

If the next patch DOESN'T addressing the TK'ing issue and all the bunny hopping, and the cussing and swearing that happens from it, I'll get tired of it really fast.

Right now, I only play with my friends, which ends up being a few times a week.

I'm getting board of the game. Maybe EA should have implemented more gametypes, and more maps. It really does get boring playing the same thing over again.

Looking at the value of the game:

        BF2: 12 maps, 1 game-type : $59 CAD
UT2004: Some 50+ Maps, multiple gametypes: $39 CAD.

BF2 Expansions: Likely to cost money.
UT2004 ECE expansion pack: EPIC's Motto, always free!

Makes you kind of wonder why you bought BF2 in the first place.

ya exactly, its just the same thing over and over again, especially when you only like a select few maps of the bunch. uhhh ive already started playing Dungeon Siege 2 over LAN, having a lot of fun... Guess its onto the shelf with BF2...

tell me about it... i dont remember why i even stopped playing UT2k4, it was by far the best MP shooter ive every played. Epic should be a role model for other companies, but unfortunatley, it seems like Epic style generosity and consideration for its customers is rapidly fading.

Most of the time, through the tking and lack of tactical intelligence, I try to take the high road and either stay away from the tkers or do what I can to contribute to my team. If you find yourself in a squad that doesn't work well together (ie. resupply when needed or be engineer if a passenger in the blackhawk), simply change squads or start your own squad so you can request supplies, artilery, etc. There's always going to be childlike behavior in servers, due to people's use of videogames to vent their own frustration or anger steming from their lives, as well as the simple fact that many children do play this game. But to fall into the same patterns of behavior is to contribute to the growing cesspool. There are good people out there, you just have to keep looking (and once EA releases a better server/user interface that allows for favorite servers and friends, I think the game will prove itself).

After a month of play I'm finding this game just hasn't got the depth of 1942. It's better than BFV but not as good as 42, yeah graphics and effects are better but the gameplay and skill development no match on 42

Yep, getting a little tired of it also. I think I am ready for more maps and mods. I feel restriced with the maps now. I like about half of them, the others, I can't stand! All the flaws are really starting to get to me too. I agree with bigchris on the series issues. I feel restriced to the vehicles in game. Hoping for more with mods such as tanks, missle launchers, aircraft and helos. Hopefully some ships too. :)

I had the same card as you bud. I broke down & got a new card. ATI X850XT. SWEeeeeeeeeet. There is no words to describe between the low & high graphics settings.

Jeeeeese guys! This game has only been out 2 months FFS! I think when the patches & the expansion & the mods come out, it will be asskicker of the Millenium game.

unranked servers are more fun... rarely do you see someone bitching

I wouldnt say that im sick of the gameplay and stuff... but I am really sick of hearing all of these people whine about unbalanced weapons and complain about stuff like the m203 "noob toob" when they know complaining and ranting aint gonna do ****. Im sick of asshats who make new accounts that are created solely for the purpose of TKing people and ruining games. Im sick of people's unencouraging attitude towards one another in game... I always hear jet pilots say, i hope you die soon cuz i just know for a fact that youre gonna suck in the air! )!!! Im sick of seeing all of this jealousy and hatred for people on the "leadeboards" If stats dont matter to you then why the hell do you even bother posting on a thread about someone that has a high rank and about to get his stats wiped?? Just keep your unhelpful opinions to yourself if you have nothing positive to say to other people... Ive seen a bunch of game communities that are far more positive than the BF2 community. Those other communities actually contribute and encourage people rather than whine, cry, complain, and insult like most of the people of the BF2 community does... I can tell that sometime in the near future BF2 is going to go to **** and it will just be an advanced versin of counter strike where everyone calls each other noobs... sigh.
