Jagged Shadows.... any ideas?

Hi guys. The game runs well for me except being booted off a server every 30 mins due to 'There is a problem with your connection' but I think that there are a lot of people having that issue.

My graphics issue seems to be with the shadows, they appear all jagged and pixelized, not smooth at all.... I think a few people mentioned this before, but does anyone know of a fix, or are we all just waiting for the mighty 1.03 patch?

I have same shadow problems...i dont think there is any thing we can do.

It can't be your gfx card...I just bought the x800 so hopefully it's software...

stupid question...please tell me you turned up your AA to 4 or <?

I wonder if it has to do with your LCD screen?

I play on all "Ultra High" settings, 1024x768@75hz, 4x AA, In-game AF...and my shadows are weird. I'll go take a screen real quick, brb.

sorry i didnt mean the card i meant the drivers theres nuthing for ati people to do currently so if you have ati dont worry about it.

Yeah, I did some more searching it looks like its a driver issue. I also saw some nVidia people who had the problem too.

I have all my settings on High or Ultra High... AF is Trilinear, no AA.

Maybe I'll just mess with some settings, see what happens.

What REALLY sucks is whenever you change settings, the stupid game has to 'optimize shadows' for you, which takes forever. Ridiculous. Especially if the optimizing just gives me some giant blocks.

I believe this jaggy shadow problem is a minor issue with the actual game, rather than people's hardware and drivers. As Nitemare showed, some shadows are fine whereas others are "jaggy", and the jaggy shadows are very distinctive and exactly the same on multiple systems.

I'd put some money on it coming up in the next patch.

oh i see i thought you meant the dynamic shadows. i ahve the same problem as you nightmare with like static shadows as to speak. but with dynamics i here lots of problems with ati cards.

shadows are game related and it is nothing to do with peoples graphic cards! everyone has blocky shadows somewhere in the game.
