...i feel your pain...for me its the classic...your mate is leaving in a vechicle as you spawn in..you ask for a ride..what does he do...take the time to say sorry...not come back and pick you up.....Mazstermind add me everyone that plays as a team.

Re: This place lulls me into a false sense of security

I easily get frustrated when I die alot (and it happens alot :p). I won't lower myself and resort to personal attacks, because it just makes me look a retard, and there is just no need for it. If it comes to the point where I get really angry (usually my problem) I will leave the game. What's the point in playing a game I'm not enjoying?

Unfortunately there are far more passionate players out there who strive to be the best, or are generally competitive. These players are usually the cause of peoples frustration. Honestly, you'll never escape these people. Competitiveness isn't necessarily a bad thing (especially outside of games, and in the workplace), but some people can push it.

If I'm honest, I don't read many peoples war stories, and know anybody on a one-to-one basis on these forums, which is unfortunate. There are alot of people who catch my eye though, who's opinions I look for and sound very intelligant (||ass||variable and DrunkenPirate being just two of many that come to mind). It's the intelligant ones I'd want to see on a server with me. Sorry, this wasn't meant to degrade anybody whatsoever.

I would seriously suggest looking into playing with a clan, or just a group of friends now and then. I would also suggest using some form of audio communication between you, it's much more fun and possibly even just a bit more realistic. In game communications are flaky at best. Playing with people you know, and talking to them and listening to them at the same time is much more enjoyable, and you quickly forget about the small annoyances as you're having too much fun.

So yeah, bottom line from me would be to find a group of people who you'd enjoy playing with. I'm lucky, as I'm in a clan full of fantastic personalities, and whom I have met in real life on many occassions. We go out now and then, have a drink and a smoke, be silly. These are the best kind of people to play with. I rarely play on my own much anymore, as it is no where near as much fun, or enjoyable.

If you're from the UK, check us out at www.downclan.com. Or at #downclan on Quakenet or GameSurge.

Sorry for the shameful advertising there :p

Thanks for the suggestion. None of my mates on the outside world play games, so I kinda just normally keep to myself online but cannot stop myself from making comments in game I have a mic/headset but I am very (very) chatty and tend to frustrate people (**** folk off ) with informative shouts like .'Watch he's over there' and pointing at my screen :hmm: or 'whatch out for that guy....oh...no hang on it's ok''

I have been on your server a few times I think btw and think I may have stopped by your website before:) you got some bloke called 'fluffy'? that name kinda stuck in my head, thought it was good given all the 'I will kill you and jump on your head' type names

edit hey this forum has a auto detecting 'bad'word thing that changes it to stars, nice touch can the game get one too that would be intesresting as hundreds of little stars appear constantly in the chat section..i'll edit my post

I know what you mean Bilko. Often I play lonewolf but I'm not really lonewolf if you know what I mean, I try to always play as a team but sometimes the squad thing just doesnt work out, for example when the entire squad is just split up without orders.

As for the mic/headset thing, that sounds like me :) "Watch out there is a guy..oh wait he is dead" being a fave. I would say clans are great, I was in one for BF1942 and BF:V however we have kind of lulled and its only really me now, but I still display my tag proudly, maybe one day I will get us going again haha.

My xfire is sergbob or at least I think it is. In game name is [BVE]Bob. Hopefully I'll meet you on the 'field one day, along with another bunch of guys here. That would be awesome, as most of us seem to be aiming for the same ideal.

Fluffy would be a member of very good friends of ours, Head2Head. We frequently practice with them.

You can pick us out of the bunch because we travel in packs, a strange lingering smell of vomit, and stains of which are indescribable by even the most outstanding forensic detectives. Oh, and we have the tag 'DowN'.

            Some names: Leki][DowN, Gaz][Down, DowN][Gomezie

We love the chatty types man, please feel free to stop by our forums. We can tolerate alot, honest.

I come in here on a daily basis and enjoy reading other peoples stories, opinions and suchlike on how the game should be played. I always leave thinking 'yeah i wanna play BF that way with these folks and dive intop a game keen to try out/ take part in all these great plans/tactics/teamplay i read about in here. However......this place apparently is in the minority when it comes to playing the game  Dunno if you agree but i would say that on average about 80-90 % of players on the servers are there for personal gain and wouldn;'t know teamplay if it bit them on ther ass, ''it's me against them all (quake/doom style) and screw the rest of my team''. The amount of times i join a game where:- the support guys don't give out ammo, your team is made up of 14 asualt/spec ops players, players leave teammates behind when taking vehicles, defense is a bad word, they hide from enemies allowing team mates to get shot in the back, don't spot enemies, command from a chopper, go for points over teamplay e.g. hanging back to cover your team whilst they capture a flag..etc etc etc...the list goes on and on...and you have heard it all before, many times

So where do all of you hide and is it possible to find like minded folks to play the way that the game was designed for or are you all just figments of my imagination . I am getting very close to uninstalling the game as i have played it for aaaaagaggeeees but now end up getting so frustrated on regular occasions trying to get into the teamplay type thing that i turn it off. Some of you may suggest clans, and admittedly i have only just started playing games online (bf2 is my first go) so i know little or nothuing about them but some of the clan folks that appear within the games should be called the 'bunny hopping/nade launching/sitting in the blackhawk clan'. I myself are far from being even a half decent player but i would really like to play with folks that watch your back/ compliment your choice of kit/ couldn't give a jot whether they finish top scorers etc.

Many of you have been playing online for ages it would seem, is this a common problem/feature of online gaming? Does it get any better? should i just say shove it and play against the bots or get out my connect 4?

Thanks for taking the time to read this...if you are still there that is
this is what happens when u turn a game into a RPG, like World of Warcraft. its not the same as DC, where u would just play for fun. Now its all based on rank, which sucks for a FPS. I find myself playing just to get points and advance in rank the easiest and fastest way possible. If this means I have to whore it up in the Blackhawk, then I will.

It's stories like this about people's unselfish acts that still makes me want to play. There are very few times that this happens but when it does its makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside being the sentimental old bastard that I am.
