Greetings

This has probably been said before several times but.............

The AA guns for starters, I was on the songhua stalemate map and the yank as usual were trying to cap the flags with the blackhawks.So I gets on the AA gun and proceeds to get a lock from quite a distance.

I waited for the flares to fire and fade then let rip with a clear tone and lock. the missiles then flew straight at it then turned and flew off into the fog and blew up a friendly heli which was full and I got 5 tk's kicked and banned.

Now how did that happen????

Now for the missiles on the planes, I'm chasing an enemy plane who is chasing a friendly plane and I get clear lock and tone, He fires the flares and I wait for them to fade and let rip.Its an easy kill he's right in front of me and flying straight yet the missiles fly on past the target and hit the friendly plane he's chasing.Another tk and punish for my trouble of trying to save his ass.

And how did that happen????

This happens to me all the time and is really gettin on my nerves, It needs fixing pronto.

I know. I get heaps of tks trying to shoot down choppers. Its bloody stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the crappy lock-on system DICE has implemented.... maybe we should start calling them MISSiles.

There should be a mod that lets you only lock friendlies. I think that's the only way to hit enemy air assets then with missiles.

Na, you'll probaly still hit friendly aircraft. Or you'll even start hitting your self... Whats that? a bird? a plane? (sure hope not) NO! its your MISSile comming back at you! WTF!!!

I was on Op. Clean Sweep today and manning the AA. The enemy had no fear and came in with masses of choppers and planes... I locked and fired 2 times at a bomber... 4 MISSiles chased his ass flying straight and level, and didn't hit a God Damned thing. In fact, the only time I killed anyone with MISSiles is in the F-15, both shooting down bombers and using the even MORE inaccurate laser-guided MISSiles...

What I hate more than hitting friendlies, is when the friendlies then do a "punish for TK". I've never seen a missile lock on to a friendly. How could they assume it was intentional????

I once fired an AA missle at a passing jet andafter i fired it turned around and went low over my head, at that moment the AA missile veered off course and right into me. Mayday Mayday!:cry:

yea when i fly i dont even care about those. If a jet shoots them off i just pull up and they always miss. If a stinger locks on i just pull up again see where they are coming from and then put some holes in it or blow it to bits. I think that they do nothing but yell here i am come and kill me.

Well, they are heat seeking missiles. So, logically, if you drop your flares, the missile is going to find another heat source.

Is it not possible that a friendly aircraft was in closer proximity to the missile than the enemy aircraft? I'm not arguing with anyone, I'm just giving my spin on it. If there is a friendly aircraft anywhere near the enemy, I won't fire AA for the simple reason that if the enemy drops flares and the friendly doesn't, by the time the friendly gets a missile locked tone it's too late.

Just my opinion, of course.
