Will explosives have a new meaning in BF2:SF (in case you didnt know, BF2:SF=Battlefield 2:Special Forces) Anyway, if the game is designed for many maps in the dark (which is awesome!!), then, wont it give new meaning to AT Mines and claymores? When your driving a buggy in the BF2 game now, its hard enough to see the mines, but just think about it if it was 1:00 in the morning in BF2:SF. I think this will bring a whole new strategy to the game. Also, the snipers will have a HUGE advantage. They will be able to hide better, and their claymores will be hidden as well. I know the Nightvision will help, but they have batteries, and once they are dead... if you trip, you fall...

Re: Explosives have a new meaning??
They will have batteries? That will suck. so you'll have to die to get a recharge? I know a lot of people who only die 1,2,3 times a round.
I'm sure the batteries will last a few hours. I doubt the round will last that long

no, i thought i read that you could only use it for like 5 minutes then it will recharge on its own. But anyway, back to the main topic...Comment

Explosives have a new meaning:
No Explosives will still mean Explosives. It will be harder but to answer your question:No, Explosives does not have a new meaning.Comment

That would be really neat if they gave snipers infra vision. I highly doubt they would.Comment

I was refering to infra red ... ie heat (body, engines etc). Completly different from night vision.Originally posted by Winnutinginfra vision? They will get night vision, yes? all kits get it?Comment

Re: Explosives have a new meaning??
snipers won't have such a big advantage I think, because when you fire you will see the fire coming out of the rifle very good, with nightvision you spot them directly.
About claymores and mines, well, mines aren't going to be that important because SF is more about infantry, claymores are going to be deadly, but you can only place twoComment

Thats because the missile is designed to penetrate not to blow up infantry. It's not an RPG.Originally posted by alphasnaili hope the increase the splash damage cuz it ****es me off when i shoot som1 with a rocket and it blows up next 2 them and they dont get a scratch.
I think there may be outside areas for heavier vehicles which are in lit areas but barricades so you can only enter on foot into the dark urban areas. which would make a nice feature. They could give claymores a little red beam for others to see, blow some smoke over an area you think there is a claymore. C4 may be the same but with a blinking light or something.Comment

Re: Explosives have a new meaning??
I think the night vision is like sprinting if you look on the footage BF2:SF you see an extra bar come up and slowly drain when nightvision is activated and i think it then recharges after you stop to use itComment

Re: Explosives have a new meaning??
I don't think there's going to be an Engineer class in BF2:SF. If they do, they most likely won't have mines. In SF the focus is more on infanty and the only vehicles will probrally be buggies or APCs. (Real APCs, without a huge A$$ cannon on it) So there won't be a huge use for the mine. I wonder if they're going to change any classes, probrally no more Special Ops class.

Re: Explosives have a new meaning??
Snipers don't have Thermal Scopes. Infra Red is not thermal. Infra Red means that you're shining a infra-red light at a location and it lights up more in Night Vision.Originally posted by GoodOmensI was refering to infra red ... ie heat (body, engines etc). Completly different from night vision.
Thermal Scopes are too bulky due to the fact that a refrigeration system is required to create that difference in temperature between scope and surrounding environment. Otherwise you would just see all kinds of bright cloudiness in the scope. Besides... the Predator thermal vision or US Navy Seals (movie) Thermal scope is bogus. Thermal scopes display as a kind of gray scale... the brighter/whiter an area, the hotter it is.Comment
