What about using the antennas mounted on almost all vehicles. They react to to the vehicles movement and would form a pretty good rope if you turn them upsidedown and make them a little less stiff. :)
Then comes the problem attaching the soldiers to the rope

The only way to do it would require custom animations and a custom rope model and if anyone is happy to do it, id be more than happy to code it in.

You pay for it. Gmax is free. Kind of a watered down version of 3dsmax.

You should do stuff yourself. Not throw in a bunch of stuff that others have done and change two lines of code. Being 10 isn't an excuse. If you can't make a halfway decent mod then don't!
