    Re: Helicopter Service Ribbon

Got mine on Dragon Valley playing as USMC.

3-4 deaths and got the 19 kills with about 75 tickets left on a 64 player map.

Can't remember which map I got mine on, but it can be done quite easily on most of them, as long as there are no suicidal pilots around. If anyone is in need of it I'll happily fly them around, just send me a message in game. It's much easier on the MEC / China side as my gunners usually get a lot more kills than me with the killer splatter cannon. I do try my best to fly for my gunners as I find it highly annoying gunning for someone who flies so high that the cannon is useless (and making them easy targets for AA / planes) and only flies for themselves making the gunner pretty useless and decreasing the effectiveness of the heli immensely.

BTW, I've been trying to work out exactly where the gunner sights are for the TV guided when I'm flying, seems to be a little above the yaw / pitch bar on the display, would the veteran pilots out there say that's pretty accurate (if anyone can give me the exact middle of the sights point that would be great, as I hate having to try to curve the missiles to hit targets at the edges of the box).

Yup its where i got mine, Be the gunner of the MEC chopper cause its gun kicks ass. I had 19 ills in about 6 mins, then i just spend some time in it. I suggest telling the pilot you need the ribbon, they might try and help you out by hovering more over infantry flooded zones.

Quoted for truth. Make sure you're on the MEC side as well. The chopper gun is far more effective against infantry and other helos, and the chopper pad for repair and rearm is much less vulnerable to attack.

Ok sorry to bring back an old thread...

But today I was going to the chopper ribbon... I had 25 kills as a gunner on M. City and (I know I have had more then 15 min in the past in a heli IAR) I know I had more then 15 min in the chopper this round because we did not die once and We were in the thing for a whole 200 ticket round! I can not figure out why it was not awarded to me... Just in case I was in the thing for 14 min and 30 seconds, Do the 15min IAR and the 19 kills both have to come in the same round?!?

              ****es me off!!!!

P.S> Anyone interested my PID is 9504130

looking at your stats , you need some practicing with the chopper man, how on earth could you get a 0.7 K/D ratio with a chopper ???????

Bit off topic, do you have to get the kills and time in the same round or not? If you can get it separately does it matter which is first, like with the time requirement for badges (you have to have time done first).

Chopper ribbon is the only one I don't have (save WCR o course). I never try because I suck at flying and most pilots fly around at 100m and 500kmh

I remember that one was a pain in the butt. If it wasn't the time I didn't have, it was the kills. eventually got it though, long long ago back in my early days of bf2

                          Yep, thats probably the easiest.

i believe they have to be in the same round

                              Re: Helicopter Service Ribbon

Daqing64 makes it pretty damn easy, lots of armor, helos and a bomber to take out; long distances so people use lots of vehicles = multiple kills per target; easy to hide from AA and jets.
Dragon Valley 32 is also rather easy, the only problem is shooting the enemy chopper against the sky (exact same gamma as TV crosshair), so it's best to take him out when he's standing out against a dark backdrop. Then you can just slaughter armor and people en masse, the stinger sites are no real threat if you remember to routinely tv missile the ones near hostile flags.

And yes, both criteria must be filled in the same round of course.

I remember it was one of the most difficult ribbons for me to get but then my friend decided to play BF2. We were playing 64-size maps with 30 players, and my friend would just hover near flag without trying to cap it there will be tons of people to kill. So when we two started to fly choppers (Blackhawks, Mi-28, Cobra) I would get 20 kills almost every round...Now Id say it's the easiest ribbon to get. All you really need is big map with less people, good pilot who's not gonna try to land chopper on flag, and you'll get the ribbon.
