1 PKM takes about 25-30 seconds to drop a helo
2 PKM's Take about 15 seconds to drop a helo
3 PKM's will take one down in less that 10 seconds (which is not enough time 4 it 2 run)

I unlocked the PKM first, and no, it won't take down a helicopter, but it certainly lets the pilots know that someone sees them and it definitely works as a deterrent to most attacks. You might be able to get the helicopter smoking and get him to return to his base for repairs, or you can get lucky sometimes and light up a smoking BH and bring it to the ground in pieces.

I wouldn't say it's more accurate, it might even be slightly less acurate, either way it's really annoying sometimes because you will line up a shot perfectly and it will miss half the time. The bullets are deadlier though so it's a toss-up.

screw the 2-3shot burst, just shoot at them for at least 3 seaconds, and when you stop, the bodys will be screeming medic. i have taken down damaged helis and destroyed full health hummers in less than 1 clip or overheat, just shoot for engine

I've also heard somewhere that the PKM is glass-piercing, just like M95. Can someone confirm this, please?

dont bother w/ single shot. if you get the urge to use single shots, use 3 or 4 round bursts instead.

No i don't mean people who own PKM uses, I mean "own" in its original use

I have been getting into playing as support recently, and it's a laugh, so I'm thinking about unlocking the PKM when I get to Corporel. But first I want to ask a couple of questions about it:

1) The thing I like about the support guns is their effectiveness against light vehicles and helo's. How much better is the PKM at this? Most of the time if I see a BH flying past, I'll spam at it with the machinegun, but I never seem to cause too much damage even tho all bullets hit. Can a PKM take down a BH or attack chopper?

2) Is it any more accurate than the standard machine guns?

Yeah, it takes 300 bullets to take it down to half damage, real good against helis.:p (Sarcastic)

PKM does next to nothing, it's better than a SAW in taking helis out, but a 50 cal could take it out like 10 times faster.

I have taked down smoking helos before with the PKM. Whem I first got it I was like wtf is this POS???? because I used to get like 4 kills minimum with the SAW for each death so I loved the SAW, when I got the PKM t the aiming was not the same of the SAW so I had to get used to it and learn how to use it before I started owning

I got my first kill on a Blackhawk with it yesterday on Mashtuur. I usually get behind a building and spam the crew quarters in the BH (usually rack up a few kills with the PKM that way), when all of a sudden an AT rocket hits it, and my bullets finish it off. I got credit for 4 kills.

Its not always futile to pump rounds into blackhawks with it.

Well, I wasn't trying to shoot it down, I was trying to take out the crew. Also, I understand the PKM isn't that great at destroying vehicles, but on light vehiclees like Humvees and jeeps it does enough damage to let the driver know they're being attacked, which is sometimes enough to scare them off.

The PKM is a great, versiatile gun if you have the patience to learn how to use it. And support is a rewarding class if you have the sense to scatter ammo bags everywhere. I've had my highest scoring round as a support class.

PKM=One of the best unlock (In ma opinion G3 and G36C is THE best :rock:)
