To owners of the PKM

No i don't mean people who own PKM uses, I mean "own" in its original use

I have been getting into playing as support recently, and it's a laugh, so I'm thinking about unlocking the PKM when I get to Corporel. But first I want to ask a couple of questions about it:

1) The thing I like about the support guns is their effectiveness against light vehicles and helo's. How much better is the PKM at this? Most of the time if I see a BH flying past, I'll spam at it with the machinegun, but I never seem to cause too much damage even tho all bullets hit. Can a PKM take down a BH or attack chopper?

2) Is it any more accurate than the standard machine guns?

Hmm that's quite a few. I suppose I could at least take off around 1/3 - 1/2 health as it flew past.

Im thinking of the PKM too, well actually, i am going to unlock it at Corporal. I've played with it, i liked it. Ive mangaed to get an attact helo smoking with it too, and if there capping a flag,, blast em with it, and they will probably move off.

PKM is awsome but you need to learn how to control it or bullets go everywhere except on target, fire in short bursts of 1 or 2 rounds maximum against infantry, it is very effective against helos too & will make most chopper pilots turn tail when you start hammering them with it, especially when they are trying to hover cap flags.

I've had the PKM for a week or two and like it. As far as helicopters go, it doesn't seem to do much damage but it does seem to scare the pilot off.

As for accuracy, it's not very. If you're using the iron sight and 1-3 round bursts it's manageable. And it does so much more damage that you only need a hit or two to kill people.

USe it for ground combat dont even try for vehicals ok jus stick to ground and youll own it rulez just get used to it first fire in 2-3 ullet urst and take dowj ppl across streets too

By the time you have caused significant damage to any kind of chopper with any kind of support gun, chances are you will be either dead, or the game is over.

Yeah it was my second unlock, its great at short mid range against squads, if like they said above you fire in short bursts of 4-5 bullets you´ll hit everything.

The only downside is that the rateof fire is quite slow compared to stock machineguns so you´ll had to get use to that.

And that means making sure you target the enemy.

I have it and it is very good, in 1v1 you should basically always kill them at mid range because of the power, Ive wiped out like 3-4 people all at once with it. Also it looks and sounds really cool.

I like my PKM, but dont know about taking down any choppers with it. Just prone and aim, it can be deadly

PKM is a deadly weapon. I cant count how many times i was playing matsuur with my clanmates and the 3 of us with PKM's would ambush the BH when i come in to cap the flag.
1 PKM takes about 25-30 seconds to drop a helo
2 PKM's Take about 15 seconds to drop a helo
3 PKM's will take one down in less that 10 seconds (which is not enough time 4 it 2 run)
and the PKM (people killing mechine) shreds infantry. If you can find a nice spot (it a dorway ot bush) just wait till ther run past you then u can shoot em all in the back :)

-no 1 charges a prone person with a pkm, its suicide

and for sum extra pts u can spam ammo so it makes for a very nice kit

Well, if you can control yourself and just do bursts it's great, i tried on a local server using a PKM to take out a BH on the carrier, went throught 3 extra mags and only did half damage, your best bet's are stingers, or a 50 cal, the 50 cals are real powerful against those heli whores, in 3 seconds they're like dead.

You cant take down a healthy chopper with it, but you can shoot some of the crew out of a bh quite often (if the gunner doesnt spot you straight away). Engineers in the back of BHs have no armour and drop out like flies, and if im lucky I can shoot the gunner out of a BH too. I find I can hit mec and pla transport choppper gunners even easier, as there's no armoured glass in front of them.
