M16 = best weapon in game.

So, after unlocking all the weapons, it is obvious to me that the assault M16 is the best weapon in BF2.

Supreme accuracy + noob toob + 2 squeezes of the trigger to kill anyone = ownage.

I thought the G3 would be great, but its ammo clip and lack of grenade launcher make it a little less powerful than the M16.

AK is too innaccurate for me. I like sniping peeps with the M16.

The support weapons suck, even the PKM. They can't hit the broad side of a barn even in prone position with iron sites.

I do like the Medic unlock..its pretty accurate in single shot mode.

But nothing tops the M16 in burst mode as far as I am concerned.

I disagree; I like the G36C the best because of its accuracy, and the fact that you get C4 alongside it to take out armor.

Yeah, i bet my G36C could take out your M16 at 200m. Seriously, a couple of shot's and you're dead, i love bursting, no need for single unless for far far away. I love it, the two reasons i play Spec Ops, G36C, and C4.

EDIT: DOn't get me wrong Char the M16's a great weapon, IMO the G36C is better for my style of play.

I agree with you. After logging a ton of hours I have 'learned' to appreciate the m16. I tend to alternate between assualt and sf so I think I'm going to like the g36c as well... (played with it a little on sp and it will be my next unlock)
M16 seems more accurate than the other assualt rifles and the 3 round burst makes me conserve ammo. There are times however when I wish I could hit the '3' key and go full auto.. single/3 shot/full auto would be nice.

I don't play Assault much; mostly AT and SF. I love the SF rifle's accuracy and rate of fire at distance. The sweet scope makes long kills easy.

In a close fight though, I'll take the DAO any day. I just unlocked it (after refusing an unlock for the longest time) and I am quickly a big fan. Running around a corner into a 2-3 guys and unloading 12 shotgun rounds in like 3 seconds = instant meatgrinder. Only drawbacks are a) the reload time is long, b) ineffective at more than like 8 yds. But in a tight city map (Karkand, Mashtur, Sharquai), it's very effective.

But isn't 3 shot the same thing as burst?

In basic they taught us to fire max 3-5 round bursts with the M16. Any more and the accuracy goes all to hell. I qualified as "sharpshooter" in basic training/AIT, and requalified later with more experience as "expert". In reality, it's a more accurate than in the game, and you can go full auto.

Real M16 > BF2 M16.

The 3-round limit blows, though; should be 5 if they limit it at all.
