one more thing, does the AMD 939 mobo support only 400/3200 and dual channel?? can't i put two 512mb of ram from 2 different companies without dual channel, or is the only to buy another of the same ram??? plz help, if i can only dual channel with both ram from the same companies, then i can only have 512mb of memory, hence i dont hav 2 sticks of ram from the same vendor/company/manufacturer

make sure you connected the On switch connectors correctly.

I got them crossed with USB one time and it wouldn't work.

If you power supply itself has a on/off switch on the back, make sure it's on. Again, i've done that myself.

I believe i did read that the 939 boards will not run without Dual Channel. I had 1.5gb installed and it would not start at all. I tried every combination and nothing. Then i removed 1 stick (making it have 1gb) and it worked.

If both sticks of ram have the same CAS timings they *should* be grand even if made by different companies, however it will run at the speed of the slower stick if they are different.. if your not sure of your ram timings try a little programme called CPU-Z it will tell you everything you need to know about each stick.

you can mix and match the ram, but it will not run in dual channel mode unless they are matched pairs, for dual channel, they must also usually be installed in alternate slots (i.e. slot 1&3 for one pair, and 2&4 for the other).
