I love spec ops :)

Planting and leaving is one thing, but if I dedicate myself to defending a flag, just one spec ops is a very deadly defender. If I am going to defend, I will plant (a good tip is to plant in non obvious places, for maximum effect), and then find a good vantage point where I can see at least the top of the flag.

If infantry come to cap the flag, I either pick them off with the m4, or lob grenades into the area to save ammo. If a vehicle comes, I wait to see if they get out to cap (in which case kill with gun) if they try to cap from inside a vehicle, I have to blow the c4. After that, I try to resupply the c4 either from supply teamates or picking up kits, then re-plant. If a chopper caps it, theres nothing I can really do (havent been able to stick it to the top of the flag yet, so I just dont try). but I just wait until they leave and then go recapture it.

Certain maps have better areas for this than others, but I usually rack up kills until I run out of ammo this way.

Here's a posible solution to the selective C4 detonator:



Place #1-5 on each of the actual C4's. Then when you click to destroy the C4 it will default to blowing the ALL up or you can select which one to blow or cancel.

If you have less than 5 C4's out then the numbers will be greyed out. What do you think?

I like the idea. But it would take a long time to detonate if an armored vehicle is coming at you after you'd place the charges and have charges at a flag.

Nevermind that I often wish I could group C4 into clusters; group I consisting of 2 packs and group II consisting of 3 packs.

It is often quite easy to notice as well. More often than not if I get to a point that is guarded by C4 then I'll notice and capture the point from the greatest distance I can. As soon as the flag goes neutral I'll run to a safeish distance and return after they've exploded (which I'll have time to do as the Spec. Ops has to recieve notice of a lost flag, check the radar to see if it's the one the C4 is at and then switch to the detonator).

Perhaps add another menu between 5 and 4 that is (4-5). This way you can have 3 C4 at the flag and then blow both 4&5 on an armored vehicle?

Between 2 and 3 have 1-2.

Does packing C4 on the front of a vehicle before said vehicle rams into another object increase the damage, ie, does the C4 do anything in that case other than look scary?

Most commanders would probably just use artillery. A good commander will save his artillery rather than spam it whenever its available.

I'm not sure its a good idea that the commander go around placing C4 at flags. At the flag he's near, yes, but other flags, I don't think so. I think it would almost be as bad as a commander driving a jet!!!

Well, the couple of times I did it, I only rigged one flag that way, so I can put down a lot of packs and get a good area of effect, and be able to destroy vehicles if I have to. Then I moved to another flag and stayed there, so I'm helping to defend two flags. This was on Clean Sweep. I agree, the Commander has many pressing duties that need to be attended. :)

Regarding more advanced detonation: maybe the easiest way to do the clustering is by proximity. That is, if you lay down C4s in one small area, they all get assigned one number.

That's called a Jihad Jeep. When the jeep blows it triggers the C4.

Yesterday a Jihad Jeep, came at me. It blew me (I was in an APC), up and the APC next to me.

Are you sure the explosion triggers it, or does the guy in the jeep hop out and click the detonator?
