    F-14 in a mod?

Is there any mod out there making a Naval mod, or at least adding a F-14 into the US arsenal?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, the F-15 is the Air Force's air surperiority fighter, and has a fixed wing. The F-14 is the Navy's air fleet defender/interceptor, and has variable wing geometry.

Awesome I can't wait. It's my favorite jet; always wanted to be a pilot one of these since I was little. Still think it's the most awesome aircraft in the Navy.

F-22 Is the Air Force's Air Superiority Fighter (F-15 is converting to Strike Eagles), and the FA-18 Super Hornet is now the navys everything (eggs in one basket?, it's now their Naval Strike, Air To Ground , Fighter, and possibly soon their EW aircraft, and I would'nt be suprised if they want to hang some Sonobouys and torpedoes off it) having retired the last F-14's a few months ago.

However, hopefully a naval mod will be smart enough to put it in the late 80's early 90's, so you can have USSR\Russia vs US and still have the F-14's, Intruders, Hornets etc

                        *cough*

And by the way, the F-22 is not the air superiority fighter. Its the next generation one. Until they get more than a dozen of those, compared to 900 or so F-15's, the F-15 shall be the air superiority fighter(I believe officially as well, that the F-22 has not yet taken the F-15's place).

Oh, I was under the impression they were in Squadron Strength now. Guess I was wrong.

I read somewhere that 500 of them were supposed to be or have been built by this time. One squadron is already fitted with f22s.

                            edit: http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/f22/

The decision to proceed to low-rate initial production (LRIP) was authorised in August 2001 and Lockheed Martin has delivered 49 aircraft under LRIP contracts. Initial Operational Test and Evaluation began in April 2004 and was successfully completed in February 2005. The F/A-22 entered full-rate production in April 2005 and is planned to achieve initial operating capability by December 2005. The USAF has a total requirement of 381 aircraft but funding may not be made available for more than 180. The first operational wing of F/A-22 Raptors will be based at Langley AFB in Virginia, eventually replacing F-15 Eagle aircraft.

i heard the SU- 37 is comparable with the f 22 also ... it is one of the few aircraft with thrust vectoring..
