Ok, first and foremost, get a joystick... Do not attempt to fly with your mouse.. Regardless of how your settings are, you will get OWNED by someone with a joystick.. Period...
Also, don't retard the throttle AT ALL when dogfighting... In a hard bank and during vertical maneuvers your airplane is literally hemhorraging energy... You need all the power you can get.... It IS true that higher speed will increase your radius of turn.. However, the afterburners in game won't raise your speed significantly in a 90 degree bank... What they will do is keep pouring energy in to keep your rate of turn high...
Also, I've found one particular thing gives me the edge over many other pilots.. Coordinated turns... (Don't ask me why, but this is one of the few real-life flight characteristics they decided to model into the game).. When you're banked and turning add rudder in the direction of the turn... (I could get into the aerodynamic reasons for this, but they're somewhat complicated...) It will increase your rate of turn... Not MUCH, but maybe just enough to allow you to get around on the guy who isn't using his rudders....
My best advice for getting good is just to go out there and practice... Find servers with good pilots on them and fight them.. Sure, you might lose... You'll probably lose a lot at first... But as you gain experience you'll be able to hold them off, and sometimes beat them... It might not be the best for your KDR, but seriously, fighting MORE skilled opponents is the best way to learn...Comment
