Yesterday...Me and my friend are talking with headsets over the phone because we are dirty white boys and dont have team speak. Our USMC team is going down hill and we havent even captured one flag yet...he goes "Dude we're gonna lose, lets just be engineers" I'm thinking...Oh great we get to use that stupid ass shotgun.

We start playing with charge and shoot tatics to have fun. Threw our combined ten gernades over the MEC side wall and then sprinted into the MEC alley way just blasting one by one in the chest. We didnt understand it was one shot one kill from close range. We go so many kills and tookt he first flag even by ourselfs witht he rest of our team makes camping the hill. It was great

I now rotate games. One game I'm all support, one game I'm all assualt(shut up....noob tube is better than US spawn camper anyday) and now I'm one game engineer.

Beware....if you start killing alot of people packed in a alley way(close range) with a shotgun(close range weapon) you will be considered a h4xor and possible had 92425 kick votes against you.

Finally, someone who understands the usefulness of the shotgun!
I've been preaching it's power for weeks now but no one believed me!

haha. :laugh: I am enginerr when my team needs me. I seem to get the same amount of kills regardless of what class I am using.

I'm really enjoying the engineer class. Love the shotty at close range...even the main locked one.

I only play engy on SP, and lately, i've taken quite a liking to it. I think that the MEC one is the best tho, nice and quick firing is always good. The US one seems weak as p!ss!

Yeah, I just got into it. At first I was just fooling around with a tank in enemy base, but I had to get out one time when an AT was closeby. Needless to say, I pumped his chest with the shot gun and BAM! He drops. Then I realized how useful it could be.

Its great but if you meet a bunny hopper youre pretty much screwed lol.

Sure the engineer is nice on close tight maps...
But MOST of the time, the enemy is AT LEAST 30-50 feet away MINIMuM!!!

And the shot gun just SUCKS ASS!!!
In real life On shot to the chest from a shotty will kill you, from at least 30 feet away...
and from 50 feet should REALLY injure you...

But this game does not accurately model the shotty...
The too weak...

i completely agree about the one shot one kill at 1-5 feet away...
But that is one gonna happen on tight maps, and i love to play ALL MAPS!!!

So what happens when the guy is 50 feet away or further ??? (95% of the time this is the case) I tell you what... YOU DIE, or RUN...

Engineer sucks ass...
especially on LARGE open maps...

Indeed the shotgun is very good, I discovered this when I got my first unlock. I wanted to get a DOA-12 but I didn't know if shotguns were good in BF2, so I used the engineer shotgun instead and later got the DOA-12. I'm really surprised that it's so underused.

It needs a tighter spread for sure. I think the damage(balance wise, not realistic) is spot on.

jackhammer is powerfull, but the recoil on that thing is a bitch :hmm:

That pump action is powerful. It's just a different style of gameplay altogether when you fight with a shotgun. You have to work from cover, and when the troops start moving in, say hello to my little friend!

I now have my jackhamer as unlock and on karkand it becomes to funny this thing, just run in the beginning of the map to the first mec flag, and there run around blast your enemy's away, run back out, reload, run back in and kill some more, sometime like two enemys are together they see you but before they start shooting you you nail them both down in a split second with the jackhamer. Nothing beats it at close range!!!
