just wondering.. Personally i think the sniper or Spec Ops.

meh id say all classes should get one cos if it was given to special ops ppl would start whining that the class is overpowered..which they do atm for no apparent reason

also would be cool if there was a 'rocket pod' asset at base, which fired a rocket at the target the laser designator was pointing to, would have a reload time aswell and commander would have to approve the strike ofcourse

I think support would have it, they help by Supporting thier squad and the designator helps Guide planes to a target.

From the one video I saw, it would let an aircraft fire a missile that would be automatically guided to the laser-designated target.

heres how it works - a passing Aircraft will pick up your Designator and lock onto it, once the Aircraft fires its Laser Guided Missile you can to some extent guide it to its target with the designator (eg a moving vehicle) - otherwise if the target is static just sit still and watch it explode :)

To be honest if everyone was running around with designators it would probably be confusing for the Pilot/Navigator - i would recommend a Spec-Ops squad Leader to use it then there wouldnt be too many ingame
