Re: AMD vs Pentium
That varies but in a game I would guess about the same as a P4 2.8Ghz. It also depends on the motherboard. Nforce2 based motherboards are the fastest for AMD XP with their dual channel memory support.Originally posted by MrCoolan AMD xp 2800 clocks at 2.2ghz... whats the equivalent of that as a pentium? -

Re: AMD vs Pentium
Thats not really true, id say an amd xp is near the p4 3ghz... I like pentium alot tho, a bit more stable. My friend got an amd 3200+ and he only has trouble with games... I have no problems at all :)Comment

Re: AMD vs Pentium
I'd check some overclocking forums and see what you can do with that board inasfar as unlocking those processors. It'd suck if you bought a 4000+ and you found out that you could've bought the 3500+, messed around in the BIOS for 10 minutes and make it a 4000+.
I hope you're planning on purchasing much more system RAM, you'll need it. Get at least 1.5 Gig.Comment

Re: AMD vs Pentium
Amen. My 3500+ is running smooth as silk at 2.5Ghz (instead of 2.2) with that same board. The Revision 2 board BIOS is OC friendly.Originally posted by PropeckIt'd suck if you bought a 4000+ and you found out that you could've bought the 3500+, messed around in the BIOS for 10 minutes and make it a 4000+.Comment

Re: AMD vs Pentium
I have my 3000+ at a very stable 2.2GHz with no problems at all. Anything higher than that with my current stock cooling will make it unstable :hmm:Comment

i have 3200+ and it runs battlefield2 great, if you can why dont u just get a custom comp- cuz 256mb RAM doesnt run much - and it would be better to get a PCI-E mobo ....... unless that is one ? i dunno but 3200+ is great for BF2 and as u propably know u need much more then 256mb RAM
Good luck
