Re: clawhammer vs San Diego core...
You can take a look at this article on OC of a AMD 64 3000+ Venice core, it gives good description of the new Venice and San Diego cores, the only difference between Venice and San Diego is the size of cache, so description is same or similar:
If you've already got a decent S939 motherboard on your hands it would be almost criminal not to try an Athlon 64 3000+ E3-stepping CPU. Sure, it's not hugely fast at default speeds, but I'd be amazed if 2.5GHz wasn't a given and 3GHz on the cards with better cooling. There's just something rather naughty but nice about 50% overclocks with near-default voltage. For once, you can have your cake and eat it! Yum.
in short difference or improvements are lower temps and uses less voltage, and better memory controller and sse3 instructions . -

Re: clawhammer vs San Diego core...
I thought that the Clawhammer was for Socket 754 only?
The San Diego is a monster in gaming because of the full 1MB of L2 cache compared to the 512kb of the Venice.Comment
