The only thing these threads EVER prove is that whether someone will get on with a particular weapon, be it default or unlock, is a matter of personal taste.

After a second go at it I love my G36C. I also love my PKM.

In both cases it's largely because now when I play Spec Ops and Support I am always using the same gun per class, no readjustment for differences between the teams.
I'm still wondering WTF to unlock for my 3rd when I finally reach 25K points though. Might even relent and go for the Anti-Tank, even though I dislike shotguns, as I play the class so much when warranted.

Well I started a second account the day after the whole all guns unlocked hack because I loved using the pkm so much. With my first account I unlocked the dao12 and started getting bored with AT soon after. After having a chance to play with the pkm for a few rounds I really started to like it. Sure there are times when you're firing at someone and they kill you first but for the most part its a awesome gun. I just played a bit a mowed down a bunch of squads by myself. You can also blow up jeeps and the heavier transports. It also puts out enough round to scare of most helis and I even finished off a cobra a few minutes ago. The only downfall for me atleast is that it overheats really fast. Other than that I couldn't be happier.

If you play support lots...unlock the PKM..it's as easy as that.

I unlocked the kit I used the most according to my stats. It just makes sense

None of the unlocks are spectacular in any way but I unlocked the G3 first and never use it but I do use the PKM, it takes some getting used to though but it is a good unlock just dont try to hit anything standing up. The medic unlock is a waste. I'll probably unlock the G36C or DAO12 next, like in another 13000 pts :p

off topic a bit, I think padding is kinda pathetic but on the other hand I can understand why people do it considering the absolute ridiculous amounts of points / playtime you need to unlock anything. No, I dont statpad :)

You don't fire in bursts, aim low and spray. Try to hit the head on the very first shot and pull down.

i don't know what is wrong with you people...the pkm is bloody awesome! i created a 2nd account just to unlock it and i love it. it is slightly more accurate than the other saw's and far more powerful. i was going to unlock it at sergeant, but with the number of tank whores, i suppose i will have to go with the g36c so i'll have a better gun for spec ops

as many threads says, pkm is good if you like the support class as it is...it's no revolution either. The gun just kill things faster -in the same situations- that you would kill with a rpk or saw. Basically, it's a little power up for those who can cope with recoil/heat and lower rate of fire

The only real unlock imo that gives a new ability is the anti-tank, the shotgun is really a new world of close combat killing for the AT, who can use the pistol or AT rocket for long-range with better effect than their smg anyways.

No ur using the pkm wrong. The other support guns MUST be used in burst. The pkm you just use full auto. Its a pretty garrunteed kill at any range. I was using it wrong at first and probaly 90% of players are. Burst kills the pkm.

Basically anyone who doesnt like PKM..saying they dont hit anything, is simply not using it properly and is a lame shot. Ive had it since the first unlock and I know from experience it is NOT badly inaccurate and kills people in no more than 3 shots, Ive managed to kill people from the top of CRANES with it.
That said I dont think people should unlock a kit for its GUN; you should unlock the kit that you play the most; if you like giving ammo and assaulting get support; if you like healing people then get the medic unlock. Simple as that.

LOL. There's always one. As if pressing the mouse button and pointing the gun at your enemy is a difficult task to anyone who has played FPSes. The gun stats tell us the gun is possibly the most inaccurate infantry weapon in the game, so guess what? It's inaccurate! It's not because they are a lame shot, it's because the gun is inaccurate! Is this getting through yet? The gun is inaccurate, it's right there in game code! DICE created it to be inaccurate!

When will you people learn that the gun is personal preference and that guns that are naturally inaccurate aren't going to be to everyones liking?
