PKM is good?

OK, so i just hit corporal, and had been thinking long and hard about which gun to unlock. I read here, i read there, and it was between the G3 and the PKM having already unlocked G36C. Eventually i went with the PKM, thinking i can be a more useful squad player giving ammo and what not. I was so looking forward to people dropping like flies in the hail of bullets from my PKM.. boy was I wrong... this gun is woefully inaccurate... even with the ironsight and burstfire. I would lace people with 20 shots dead on and none would hit, even when prone and at close distances. Then there's the damage, sure it's high, but nowhere near as high as it needs to be. I remember one instance when i looked over a small fence to see an enemy proned looking the other way, from about 2 feet i unloaded in his back while standing up, he just turned while proned and killed me with one shot from the shotgun. Imagine my rage...

To me, it's no better than the SAW or any other MG's... EA needs to tweak the damage and proned accuracy up hugely. But i'm sure they won't care, EA never do... maybe i'll have to pay to have it fixed? Oh well, in 14,000 points i get another unlock, hurrah.

No, there is an online conspiracy where people will tell you to unlock the PKM so there is one less threatening weapon on the battlefield. I'll recommend anything but the G3 because lord knows that will drop you at any distance like a bad habit.:laugh:

I like the PKM. Just remember to go prone and fire in bursts of 5-7 bullets before adjusting for recoil.

The pkm was my second unlock, I would recommend it. Nice take down power.

No, there is an online conspiracy where people will tell you to unlock the PKM so there is one less threatening weapon on the battlefield. I'll recommend anything but the G3 because lord knows that will drop you at any distance like a bad habit.:laugh:

PKM will disappoint you. Go search for my bevy of posts on the issue, and the contrarian responses - then decide for yourself.

You'll be happier with the DAO-12, G36C, L8, or G3.

wtf, PKM is pretty good. i tried it today on an unranked all weapons unlocked server, and boy was it effective. i was playin on the map Daqing Oilfields, and i was ontop of one of the tall pipes, and i saw two enemy soldiers runnning below me trying to cap the flag, so i just shot randomly where they were, and killed them both with 2 extra defended flag points. u see, it only really takes 3 bullets to drop a soldier so ur chances r pretty good...

Well, if you look at the stats in the python scripts. You can see that the PKM basically doubles damage while the other stats are identical to the other support weapons. Youll also note that it fires a bit slower, but not enough to make up the damage discrepancy, plus then your random hits in a field of fire are much more potent.

It fires too slow in relation to the projectile speed.

Good luck with those "random hits".

you guys who diss the PKM just plain suck at the support guns. i pwned squads of guys buy just constant spray in thier direction. i can sniper and kill vehicles with it too.

The PKM is great, especially on city maps. Wait for a squad to come around a corner, and kill them all before the weapon overheats... :) Wait for them to go past you and open up, watch them drop without firing a shot. :laugh:
