That would be ridiculously stupid. It's been shown in numerous tests that people are more comfortable seeing a man die in combat then a female, which is why most females don't fight on the front lines. In video games, you rarely kill female grunts for similar reasons.
And adding female models because gay people play BF2? How ridiculous is that?

I don't think it would work. All they would really be able to change is the face. To give female charaters a smaller frame would give them a slight advantage when it comes to being tageted or finding cover. Just as in real life a female in fatigues would look just the same as a man except for the average height. There would be no real point in putting in girl characters. Just use your imagination. You could make a mod. :)
Not an issue but our clan has two "girls" that are top notch players. As for those that want to play as a girl, well each to there own. They win or loose like anyone else in the "game".
I know girls who completely pimpslap many many male players to the point where its just embarrassing.
