Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Alright... you're saying that one shot taking down a black hawk is unrealistic? In much the same way that it usually takes two missiles from a station ground battery to down a helicopter? Yeah right.
In much the same way that an ANTI-freakin'-TANK round will not shred a chopper, or at least damage it enough to ground it.
We were being super-realistic with the copters up until this point.. damn..
Whoo, I sound like such a troll, sorry.
No i was talking about the wheel...ofcourse a copter could be taken down by a RPG but im talking about a hit to the wheel should not blow the whole thing up.....sorry for any confusion.....

But regardless I know that this is an arcade type game but it has a realism feel to it and in my opinion that is sooooooooooo completely opposite of realistic even for a arcade type game.... and that’s my 2 cents
Then stop talking
yeah that added a whole lot of value to the topic at hand....
Aha, by coincidence after reading about this sweet spot, I ended up bailing out of the Mi-28 in the USMC base in Kubra dam. There was a Blackhawk squad going on the map and they were waiting for the respawn. As soon as it spawned they piled in, and I popped up from behind the sandbags and got the back of the wheel with the eryx, instant 4 kills :)
No ideaif it would work while the chopper is in the air though...
Sounds good in theory until you try to put it into practice. Even when they're hover capping they're rarely stationary enough to get a good shot. They'll start moving the gunners into position if they see you and catching them in the correct position in the few seconds it takes to cap the flag before they go takes a great deal of luck.
The best I've managed so far was to get under the nose of one but it was moving around so much I missed and then it had capped and was pulling away to gun me down :/.

Didn't say it was easy. Hitting a small target on a moving/bobbing fly vehicle is hard. But what do you expect that 1-shot from your AT rocket can take out a vehicle with upto 6 people in it.
Thanks for posting this guys. I play on the Tnt server alot...and those guys love to flag hop in the blackhawk. So nice to wipe that sob out with a single shot :).
Yes, I can totally see how a damaged wheel completely disables a helicopter and renders it's ability to fly as zilch. Too bad they didn't hit the main rotor or tail rotor...those are so much less important...
I'm not sure how to explain why I think it happens but its like how if you flip a car over in GTA, although it could look fine, in the video game, it won't drive properly so it just takes up space, so it gets blown up. So if you destroy a wheel, then it can't land and is just wasted space, so its gotta go. I hope that makes some sense, and if not, eh, I tried.

Not really, but even if the wheel was blown off the helicopter could still fly. Personally, I think the spot just under the rotor should be the "sweet spot" and not the front/back of any wheel on a flying vehicle.

The only similarities I see in the helicopters in BF2 to GTA are the physics. (face it, both are n00bified) Hitting a wheel shouldn't matter as long as just the wheel is what's damaged, but the helicopters have a total amount of hitpoints, and I guess the way the rocket versus wheel damage mod could have been accidentally set very high.
can someone explain to me the tactical in game value of this?
(besides shooting down your own (or camping) at landed helo's
Yeah, I will. When your trying to capture a flag and a blackhawk comes in with the mini gun eating your ***** up and you need to down him without taking 3 or 4 shots. Simple right. The quicker you kill, the better for you. Like I've heard that you need to shoot the track to take a tank down quicker?? I also want to know where to shoot the cobra? I hit one yesterday from about 20 meters with a tank round square in the side just below the pilot and he flew off in a hurry, but no kill. Are we kidding??? Great game but alot of things that need to be worked out. See you on the killing fields. Yeah I'm a nooby but watch your back I'll get better.
You guys are complaining about a wheel kill being unrealistic in a... Video game. It's a reward for being able to hit such a small target. Get over it, you'll be lucky if you ever see anyone take a BH down in one shot to the wheel anyway.
