Well, I caught wind that there's going to be an interesting event to get rid of a lot of cheaters. So, I may stick around...til 1.03 anyway. It'd be really cool to be on a server or two and see several (thousand?) people getting banned at the same instant.

They wont know it's coming...it'll be like a sniper took them out, except they wont be able to play on a lot of servers anymore.

(btw, that's a HINT to all of the cheaters out there)

I actually was up everynight trying to make it to corporal... n when i did... I had nothing to look forward to n be eager to kill for... so i kinda just left BF2 for a week...

I don't know how many previous online FPS games you have played, but cheating will always be around. Yes, the companies might find a way to halt the progress of online cheats/hacks for maybe about a week, then you will see them again. It is something your going to have to live with. Most of these guys that code up the programs to run the cheats/hacks are actually smarter then the people trying to prevent it. Just keep that in mind.

Also, just a note, whenever I am commander I make sure to spot as many enemies as I can when I hit scan so my team can know where all the enemies are located as much as possible. I only use UAV's when it is necessary (squad is taking a much needed flag, scanning for positions for arty strike, squad requests).

You can't blame PunkBuster for this. PB is quite good when it is setup and run properly. It has made CoD a virtually cheat free environment as long as the server admins keep up to date and have tweaked PB to work properly.

PB out of the box will not catch many cheaters, it has to be tweaked and setup properly. Unfortunately (unless things have changed), EA controls the settings of ranked servers and will not allow PB settings to be changed from the defaults. This of course means that PB will not catch much, and players are stuck with the results.

I've yet to encounter anyone who I suspected was cheating. However, I've been accused of it several times. I think it has more to do with people sucking than anything else.

once i get to corporal in the next couple days, i will stop playing for awhile. It is getting boring to be honest. I bet people will get bored pretty quick when there are only 8 maps.

true. and EA is a vampire for money. we will have to pay to get maps added. i got bored after Corporal... and then took a 2 week break in south america. and when i came back i was ready to play again ... then i got to sergeant about a week later and its boring again!!!! YA!

Lost interest a little because of lack of game modes and maps.
But the graphics, checkin out new guns, finding places to own at
keeps me coming back. At least until F.E.A.R. and all those winter games.. .

I've yet to encounter anyone who I suspected was cheating. However, I've been accused of it several times. I think it has more to do with people sucking than anything else.

I play on several different servers (all ranked). Some cheaters are more obvious than others.

I know I may not be "the best" player, but I also know when someone is cheating...they're usually pretty easy to find.

Cheaters are people with absolutely no skill...that's why they cheat in the first place. Unfortunately, they take the fun out of the game when they cheat.
