Lost interest in playing BF2

I've lost my desire to play BF2. Why? Cheaters. PunkBuster is obviously nothing more than a marketing ploy, because it doesn't work. I read on one website where they tout "We can keep this PB proof forever, only by changing a few things which takes less than 30 seconds!". Pretty sad statement regarding PunkBuster if you ask me.

And it seems that cheating is becoming more and more rampant as time goes on. On Sunday, I kept getting shot at even though I was in locations where no one could see me even if they tried. Oddly enough, they were able to take me out.

And today, I tried to sneak up on a guy several times but he knew I was coming every time even though I was coming in different directions and he had no visibility of me whatsoever. That, and he was able to kill me with one shot from his weapon each time as well.

So, what's the sense in playing, in actually WORKING your way up in ranks when there are people out there that will cheat every chance they get. Why should I waste my time actually earning my way when others cheat their way?

I plan on writing a letter to EA requesting they refund my money due to the fact that the product is defective, which is in accordance to their return policy. And, I believe Battlefield 2 is defective.

I imagine that EA will request that I return the game when I ask for a refund.

Take the bill and take it back to the store. Make up some BS that the game files on the cd is corrupt or something and you'll get your money back

AUV maybe?

No...I know what an AUV hit is like. These were regular gun hits.

I don't know about you, but I haven't noticed any cheating. Have you considered:

1) grenades
2) UAV radar
3) lag
4) long-range weapons (even tank machine guns)

Those might explain some of those strange deaths.

ive rarely been hit by and AUV (UAV?), if ever. dont think its possible.

The ones where I was hit from afar, maybe. But a guy knowing which direction I was coming from every time and being able to kill me with one shot? Doubtful. There wasn't enough time for the UAV to recharge between times that I went after him (sorry, I confused UAV with AUV), he wasn't using grenades, our latency was about the same, and he wasn't using any long range weapons either. Oh, and he was able to take out other targets with one hit as well, no matter what weapon he used.

BTW, if you haven't noticed any cheating, then you don't know that there are cheats out there that will bypass PunkBuster. Either that or you're playing against AI bots.

If i get sniped i normally work out where it came from pretty easy (thanks to hit line) so i spawn, head back to get a free kill. Since most snipers stay still i just flank 'em, walk up behind and pop a cap in their noggin.....one shot, one kill......

you should look up at the console to see what type of thing killed you (weapon type)

I can't belive this. The second "OMG I was pwned. Must be a haxxor" thread in 20 seconds.

It's called gameplay. There are plenty of 1 shot weapons in the game. A lot of guys have played enough to be able to get head shots most of the time. Not to mention, how do you know it was one shot -- did you count?

As for being able to find you, it's called a UAV. Maybe you should read up on how they work. And they're more than capable of having an endurance over several spawn cycles.

I'd also like to have a dollar for every time I thought I was hidden where no one could possibly see me and I ended up getting wasted. Obviously you weren't hidden or maybe your legs were sticking through the wall and a guy shot them? I know I shouldn't, but i do that all the time.

is there a possiblity that the server you played on didnt use PB. cause all you people out there who ever played games with PB knows that PB always create a initial lagg when you join a server and thats why some servers dont want to use PB, havnt experienced it in BF2, but you never know.
