What's with the crappy parachute?

Yeah they close. I've jumped off the building at Sharqi and it opened and closed when I tapped the 9 key. It's happened to me several times...I don't tap anymore.

Mine comes out instantly when I press it- X for me. In fact when I'm dropping in behind enemy lines, I wait until I'm practically 20 feet from the ground before I open it. POP- then I float for a second behind the trees...

Little known fact- it CLOSES and must be REOPENED when you hit the side of a building or anything else. SO you need to be careful and make sure you clear the BASE when you BASE jump.

Your lucky you can parachute off a building. I wouldnt complain.

thats only one problem with a chute. A few days ago i damaged a chopper from far away so the enemy pilot bailed and deployed his chute. So then i tried to kill him but i crashed into the chute and blew up. WTF? By the time i got there his chopper was gone and this was still high off the ground so i know i crashed into the chute.

i selected left ctrl button for parachute, because that 9 button is bit hard to push in less then a second, for small jumps i mean

The more you press 9 the less likely it will open, just tap it once or twice.

my parachut just work fine only with high speed when i eject than i mabye have to hit 9 more than once

while on the chute subject.. a future patch should allow you to release yourself from your chute.. to freefall... and allow you to open a 2nd reserve (maybe ONLY if your spec ops or something)

i know it'd come in quite handy... slowly get over your target spot.. let the chute go.. free fall til you're a few feet off the ground.. RIP.. out comes the next chute to slow you down... would be awesome.. perfect for snipers or SF

Think about it. A parachute dosen't slow you immedatly, it has to come out of the bag, fly upwards, open up, fill with air. Then it slows you.

Thats why people hold the parachute while base jumping, it removes almost 1 and half steps.

I think its just another bug dice didnt care to fix.

it will only open when your weapon gets tucked away that shows u have reached the right speed for it to open

i had it put to the scroll button on my mouse works faster than any of the keys might wanna give it a try
