A8V-E Delux versus A8N-E

other than the chipset, whats the difference between the two motherboards and which one is better. Thanks

A8V is AGP8x, A8N-E is PCI Express...

so the A8N-E is better..however, if you're going pci-e you really want to go for SLI, so i'd go for the A8N-SLI Deluxe

apart from than..not much difference...PCI-e is much more future proof

A8V is AGP, A8V-E is PCI-E. And I don't but Nvidia cards so I'm not getting SLI. I'll wait untill Crossfire matures. My x800xt is more than enough for now.

is your X800 pci-e or AGP, cause surely that should make your decision about what mobo to go with, it's only going to be compatible with one of them..

different chipsets, different # of pci-e x1 slots, one has onboard gfx..A8N-E has Sata 3gb, not just Sata. Basically i "think", the A8N is a dedicated Pci-e platform, and looks to be a newer design. The A8V looks more like an AGP board with PCI-e plugged onto it...

i'd go A8N-E

I know the A8V Deluxe does with a BIOS upgrade. So I imagine the A8N does as well.

if you're looking at gaming though, dual core is kinda pointless - no games have that compatibility yet

The A8N-E does support up to and including the Athlon 64 x2 4800+
