Its also a good tactic to get close then switch fast to one of the passanger positions and detonate the C4 (make sure you have the detonator already selected).

The fact that the top 10 USMC players generally have more points (~50-100) than the TOP MEC player (~50 pts) more than justifies ramming the blackhawk.

Amazing, USMC wins even with a third of the team practicing grenade throws at the helipad. It's only when half the team resorts to TKs to get the blackhawk that MEC stands a chance.

        Well done soldier.

I wish gunners had more sense, all they have to do is spray the cockpit and the suicide crazy man is dead. BH rounds go through glass.

If it is in the game, use it. Everyone else does anyway hehe. Find the advantage and use it to your advantage.

I don't claim that my method requires any great amount of skill. I do get a crapload of kills and help my team out an awful lot. But I don't claim that this is somehow any more or less skillful then playing the BH.

              What do you people think?

Comments especially welcome from victims. I usually play as either this accounts name or another name. I'm the only one I've ever seen do it so since the other name is in somewhat bad taste, I'll leave it for you to decide if it was me or not.
Why not try shooting the thing down, 2 people in key locations with the Vod will eat up a full Bh with enigies in a matter of seconds.

So assuming you have a squad of two or more working closely together...you still need to find two vodniks and park them close together. Then wait patiently for blackhawk to fly into your trap. Meanwhile you are sitting ducks for any ground forces. Vehicles not moving don't tend to last very long. And if you do live long enough...you are banking on the BH pilot to be oblivious enough to fly low without identifying the threats first and taking them out one at a time and then repairing. Sure it could work but there are too many depencies.

Well if a map contains any jets BH's aren't the smartest place to be.

One question (I don't play spec ops that much) Is there any range limitation on the trigger? Can you wait until the C4-ladden chopper is on the other side of the map before you blow it? Also, what's the time limit on C4 before it goes away?

                    Off topic comment:
Any tactic that can be used in TWL or CL or anyother ladder competition is fair game when pubbing. Suicide Choppers, Jihad Jeeps, Base Camping, Spawn Camping. And yes, it's extremely fustrating at times but that's why we have admins. Each server has their own rules. If you don't like base camping find a clan that thinks like you and play on their servers. But you can't complain when the server allows these tactics and you don't like it. Nothing worse than BH crews whinning over a Suicide Chopper kill.

So much easier to simply take control of the flag the controls the BH spawn point and lots of fun trying to defend it too. At least that is more in the spirit of the game in my opinion. BHs aren't really all that hard to take down, people just tend to want to do their own thing instead of work as a squad or a team. Why they play a squad-based game based on teamwork is still beyond me.

do you dive out of the plane before it contacts or stay with it to guide it to its final destination?

I stay with that beast the whole way. I fly high above the BH until they go down to hover a flag. It looks funny as hell when I do it because once they hover, I point the nose of the MI-17 straight down and ram them in a completely vertical dive.

"One question (I don't play spec ops that much) Is there any range limitation on the trigger?"
Nope - you can rig their base and blow it from a chopper on the other side of the map (note: the trigger is like a weapon, so you do need your hands free to use it).

"Can you wait until the C4-ladden chopper is on the other side of the map before you blow it?"
Yes, I'm not sure why you'd want to though..

"Also, what's the time limit on C4 before it goes away?"
There is no time limit. However, when you die your C4 will stay connected to the trigger in your kitbag, when your kitbag disappears, so will the C4. (note that anyone can pickup your kitbag and set off the explosives - I think I've seen enemies accidentally blow themselves up with my C4, but I'm not entirely sure).

"At least that is more in the spirit of the game in my opinion"
IMHO using the blackhawk as a flying tank with insane anti-infantry ability isn't in the spirit of the game either...

If someone wants to use the blackhawk in a way to get the best out of it, then they can't complain if someone else makes the vastly inferior MEC chopper halfway useful...

If I was in the blackhawk, I'd probably be pissed, but now that I've read it I'm like damn I gotta try that.
