    Waterfall is Easy

    Use objects from here:
    objects/staticobjects/ambienteffects/staticfx

When placing a waterfall do not tilt it - rotating is fine. You will get CTD if you tilt it.

Copy objects to new map or to other areas of your map

      1. Draw a bounding box around all the objects you want to copy and right click. Select "save object bundle" and give it a name.

      2. Then right click in an area you want to copy the bundle to on a new or existing map select "Object bundles > name of your bundle" to place object bundle.

It seems to be buggy though as objects dont always stay level.

Fix objects from dissapearing in the editor

Compile lightmaps then restart editor and they wont dissapear anymore.

Good looking textures the guaranteed way

You can do this even after you have already painted your map.

          1. Bring up your textures and in the tweakbar set "LowDetailType" to 1 or 2 for all of your textures.

For horizontal planes set to "1"
For verticle planes set to "2"

          2. After changing all textures in tweak box go select each individual texture one at a time in the resource/texture and hit "Set Low Detail Texture" then "Generate Low Detailmap".

You should see the change instantly in the editor.

Your best bet is to download the EA tutorials. They give the basic controls like camera movement, but some of the stuff requires you finding out or looking on forums.

Click on the rotation tool in the level editor looks kinda like a line going around in a circle, then click and hold a axis and rotate or rotate an axis 45 degrees by right clicking it.

or select the object then edit the rotation in the tweaker bar, recommened for specific rotating.

                        Re: Faq

I have a few questions that I couldn't find any answers for...

                        1. What does the Generate Atlas Lightmaps do?

                        2. What are Evnmaps?

                        3. What does Make Ground Hemi do?

                        4. When I select an object that I placed there is an option that says "Generate Lightmap for this object". Do I really have to check this for it to generate a lightmap for the object?

                        5. When I generate my lightmaps, why is it only generating for part of my map? There is like a big square that it does - but nothing else...

                        Thanks

Not quite sure on the first 3 but..

                          4. I havent actually noticed it before tbh lol but im sure thats just object specific, you dont have to do it that way. To do all (including it) go to Light Maps -> Generate Lightmaps. I think that way you pointed out is just for use in a reason like you have generated your final lightmaps but then after testing you need to move a building abit so you need to generate again, or, placing a new building down and just want to do the lightmaps for that building...

                            3. Envmaps is pretty much what you see in reflections in highgraphics. Such as water reflections or reflections in the Helo's windows.

                              5. Dont select Only Nearest when making your lightmaps. It will only lightmap what you see in the editor.
