    ATi texture/crashing problems

I have all these black textures that pop out of nowhere on the following maps-

    - Fushe pass
    - Daqing oilfields
    - sometimes Kubra Dam.

Now im getting random crashups. Like i would crash and then it would say "no signal".

    All other games run fine.

    Whats going on???

    Spec-

    P4 2.4GHZ Northwood
    1GB 2700 RAM
    61GB 7200RPM HD
    9800 PRO 128mb 256bit Artic Cooled.
    Cat 5.6

Omega and Cat 5.7 seemed very unstable for me.

When are the new drivers coming out?

I wish I could help you bro. I had the same problems, updated to 5.7, now no longer had those issues. Seems like a lot of folks have these problems, and it seems to be BF2 specific, as everybody has different computer specs.

    Specs

    3.4Ghz P4-HT
    2GB crucial pc4200 DDR
    80GB 10k RPM HD
    256MB ATI x850xt pe
    SB Audigy 2

Have you tried using "drive cleaner" to get rid of your video drivers? Grab the program over at driverheaven.net. Re-install your drivers and let us know what happens...

Could always try and remove them with Driver Cleaner Professional Edition though and reinstall from scratch, delete the temp folders that aTI use on the C: drive too since it uses the same working folder for decompression.

                      Re: ATi texture/crashing problems

After buying my new card, x850xt pe, I have corruptions too and tried to take screenshots but this is what I found in my ss folder. The normal ones are done with pasting in paint. Some very weird stuff. Sadly don't have ss of choppers with a big black square instead of rotors, or blackboxes around plants, black boxes under peoples names which go through everything and of course crashing to desktop. Didn't had any problems with my old trusty 9700 card.

Are they the same you guys had?

absolutely...1gig ram..all sorts of problems with textures, crashing etc.
2gig, hasn't crashed, lagged or even glitched once...

it's all to do with virtual memory...maps like fuhshe pass and dragon valley use approx 1400-1500mb of ram to load all their details..
