Yeah, I use the M24 if I'm US, otherwise I'll use the M95. I don't really understand the M4 vs. sniper rifle comparison. The carbines are like pop-guns in terms of damage. I guess if you're lucky enough to get headshots at range then you have a valid argument, but I don't really think that's a plausible argument.
I'm not really happy with either of my unlocks. I should have gotten either the G3 or DAO-12 and the PKM.Comment

I've played quite a bit with each sniper rifle, and have even unlocked the M95. For the record, here are a few misconceptions about the rifles that I've noticed:
1. The M24 DOES NOT do the same damage as the M95. I don't need to look at some guys "damage chart" that he put together over summer vacation, because I've used both and been hit with both. The M95 take all but 2 red blocks of health off your bar, no matter what type of armor, or lack of it, you are using. The M24 leaves much more health, but like the M95, can easily be a 1 or 2 hit kill. Yet it does less damage. If you get whiffed by the M24, it might take 60-70% health, but get whiffed by the .50 and its all but 2 bars of health every time. Thats why whenever an M95 sniper hits a target that runs away, he end up getting a kill assist when his wounded victim finally dies. The M24 will do just as much damage, but with armored classes, won't always get the kill assist. Why you ask? Because it does less damage. Ever notice that you've been shot went from 100% health to all but 2 bars? Guess what, you got hit by the Barret .50 cal. Run!!!!!!!
2. The M24 seems to be much more accurate because it seems, IMHO, to have much better hit detection for some unknown reason. I've shot from prone positions with both, and by far, the M95 misses when there is no doubt it should have hit. Even after firing a whole clip, it can still not register a single hit even on a stationary, exposed target. The M24 rarely misses an obvious hit, and for that reason, is superior to the M95 in hit detection.Comment

The damage chart is not some piece of **** pasted together by someone in his summer vacation but it was a collection of the codes from all the weapons, if the code says 95 for the M24 and 95 for the M95 then thats the damage, you can tell yourself whatever you want but the code says the M24 and M95 are identical except for the M24's accuracy, which doubles the M95's.Originally posted by XoC.bomberI've played quite a bit with each sniper rifle, and have even unlocked the M95. Is it possible they'll be changing the M95, or any of the unlockables, around a bit in future patches? if that's the case, I would reconsider what to unlock for my second weapon (PKM was 1st for me).Comment

And that's about the only way you'll get a kill from shooting a pilot out of a blackhawk (luck), it still takes two shots (better hope he's not a medic also)Originally posted by Pedroyeah... yesterday i killed a minigunner in a blackhawk... with the chinese sniper... he was trying to get a flag, and i just shot a round in the direction of the blackhawk, and he died... i almost shat my pants...
I did it one time, and only because the dude held perfectly still for me while trying to cap a flag by himself in the blackhawk.
The only benifit to sniping is the sound doesn't give you away like using the SVD does, BAAAANG instead of BANG, BANG, BANG, but if you're good you can take down more people faster with the SVD at closer range than either the M24/M95.Comment
