If your reloading do it, you usally get the chance to finish reloading and might kill the guy, but if you play vrs ppl that have decent accuracy it doesnt help much.

I only have success when I am assault, I almost always kill them. However, if I am anything else, I seem to die without fail.
I really do think it screws with the hit box because I am fairly good at aiming, but when they are bunnyhopping I just can't seem to hit them even at close range with my gun right on them.
To me, it is an exploit. It's like the the HB was f-ed up in HL2 and when you ducked your head HB disappeared. . .so everyone in the game was walking around crouched. . .really annoying.
Oh yeah and BTW, it doesn't take any skill to bunny hop. It is not a mark of skill. If anything, it is a mark of non-skill because you have to do something stupid and easy in order to not get killed.
All that said, it really doesn't bother me that people do it. . .eventhough I think they are lame and look stupid. It's there in the game so you might as well just get used to it.Comment

Well that's a good question. But I don't think it really helps too much. If I'm prone and your jumping around I've got the edge as far as aim goes.Originally posted by ud!tok I'm still kind of new so don't flame too bad
I noticed you can bunnyhop pretty good in this game by holding sprint, releasing in the jump, then sprinting for a split second again before jumping again. Not only can you jump high but you are (it seems) atleast as fast as normal sprinting so I imagine it would make you hard to hit. The problem is that it eats your stamina really quick.
Do you guys ever bunnyhop? is it ever worth doing?
That being said I do use it once in a while as assult and the m203. It's just easier to aim I guess, and it surprises the crap put of people...Jump...nade...dead. But the 203 is more predictable when shooting downward.Comment

Oh and I don't see this going away either. Simply because a lot of the maps were designed with the current jumping abilities. Like imagine not being able to get from one side of the construction site at Sharqi to the other, or not being able to jump over walls. I just don't see them changing it.Comment

I can kill the bunnies half the time by going prone or using a well placed 203 round. When I get killed by em, I usually mutter some obscene comment about the "GD Hopping Bastard with no skill." But, I also complain when I stick my G3 in someones chest and they turn and kill me. I'm thankful for teammates who walk around the corner and piss on the guy to take away that last bar of heath that he has left. For all who want realism, there's a recruiter near you.... But, I do think it a cheap way of getting a kill. Once, fine. Twice, nOOb. Three times, "GD Hopping Bastard....."Comment

It's not part of the forum rules, but common sense ought to tell you that if you're already very biased toward one side of a discussion, your heavily un-objective opinion isn't useful to a fair analysis of the issue, especially within the context of THIS game.Originally posted by octa01||ass||variable : Didn't realize being completely objective was part of the forum rules. An internet message board is hardly the place to make this stance fwiw *cough*
The lynchpin of this whole discussion is in the intentions of DICE - did they intend for the jumping and GL to be used in this fashion? If so, then the issue ought to be dropped. If they didn't, then there's a legitimate objection to be made against doing it, even if it's technically possible. In the latter case the stewards of the ruleset (DICE) should make adjustments to prevent it from happening.Comment

I think its super easy to hit people who hop, cause they cant run fast for cover (which seems more effective in my limited experience), but also because with controlled bursts its pritty easy to pick them off with only a few rounds. Long distance is even easier to pick them off, the only time it can be useful is close range or if you know a guy is around the corner as the guy around the corner will expect you to to just walk around or crawl.Comment

No, the US soldier would be dead.

If I can't sprint, out of ammo, and there's a 203 or tank rnd coming my way, you better believe I'm jumping behind a wall. While I wouldn't say that's 'bunny hopping' it's jumping all the same and I don't think that should be taken out of the game especially if it helps you avoid some of the splash damage from a noob tube. I've never found it hard to kill a bunny hopper especially since recoil is making your rounds rise anyway.Comment

IN some instances; yes.
Its good at times when:
-You have a shotty and the guy is "pretty close"
-You have a fully automatic gun and the enemy is within 10-25 meters away (not too close and not too far away) BUT REMEMBER NEVER USE THE ZOOM WHEN JUMPING
-The enemy prones within 15 meters of you.
-You are using a knife
Its bad at times when:
-Your witin 5 or less meters of a STANDING enemy.
-Your sniping
-Your have a pistol
-You have a machine gun
- And most every other application not mentioned in the above sector speaking of affective uses.Comment

I've been thinking about this and don't think it's a good idea. Think about how many times you're trying to navigate terrain (especially when you're getting out of water or trying to climb a steep hill) and you have to constantly jump to get onto level ground. Not only is it maddening when you're in that situation, the last thing I would want is to be depleted of stamina simply trying to move forward.Originally posted by blackguy32I think the solution is simple. Simply make it so you need like 4 bars of stamina to jump.Comment

Well the game already takes your stamina for jumping. Only thing is, loss of stamina only keeps you from sprinting. I know i usually dont have to get up steep cliffs, maybe in the chinese maps but I think jumping is used far less in that role than anything else. But its just a suggestion that I see is taken for other games.Originally posted by HorrorBusinessI've been thinking about this and don't think it's a good idea.
