Is this game's infantry combat crap?

IMO it should have been more like CSS, the way it is now everything is very underpowered. Also the infantry walk far too slow as well, the walking speed should have been 2x what it is now.

your crazy the infantry is one of the best parts of the game, I love the infantry way better in BF2 than CS.

I think its crap for the exact opposite reasons lol, people are too fast and guns hurt as much as paintball guns do...

Infantry combat has its problems, but not with respect to that of CSS. IMO, CSS has some of the worst infantry combat I have played. The movement speet in BF2 is well done (CSS is far too fast), the problems that need to be looked into are things such as hopping and abuse of the 203 (noob tube).

you won't say everything is underpowered once you actually begin to aim for the chest (I know, in CSS, if you aim for the chest, bullets will actually land right above their head, hence you have to aim low, not so in BF)

              also unlock the PKM.

It's OK, but it needs tweaking. Just one example is I don't like the way the US has single shot or burst mode and the MEC/Chinese (?) have single shot or auto mode, why can't all three teams have all three modes.

Because each of the real guns dont have all three modes. Real M16A2s have semi and burst, while the others have semi and full auto.

I think the biggest problem with inf combat is the 203 noobs, from distance its fine, but from 5ft its just stupid. Makes me want to stick a steak knife through my monitor :P

I can cope with the hopping, grrrrrr @ 203 noobs

Infantry combat is great. The weapons are plenty powerful enough when you have got the hang of them. A few tweaks to fix the jumping and prone crap and it will be spot on for me.

Oh and don't knock the M16 with its burst fire mode. My fav assault gun by far. It does take more skill to use though than the full auto guns.

No way does it want to be like CSS that would ruin it.

It needs to be more like AA. If you play AA you will see how FAR more polished infantry battles are in terms of realism of grenades and 203's as well as shooting. The guns act realistically the bullets have realistic physics with bullet drop, you have breathing which you take in to account when you aim and most of all when you shoot a 2 shot burst directly in to someones chest they actually die as they would in real life.

It really impairs my ability to play BF2 because i'll come rouynd a corner fire 3 shots to someones chest a textbook kill but they don't die.

You're nuts!! Infantry combat in BF series has always been great (haven't played BFV, if it sucks there, don't bash me).

CS guns SUCK. The way the crosshair gets bigger, but it keeps 100% steady, and the gun shots always go out of it, whats the point of having a crosshair at all?

Infantry Combat seems to be fine for me. The only thing i might have to complain about is the pistol power; less powerful than in BF1942. But it has 15 shots now, and seems to fire much faster. Anyway, I don't want to have pistols so powerful.......hate pistol wars. Rifle more fun
