If they pull the plug on the account servers, someone will hack together an alternative and release a 'patch' that will point peoples' BF2 install to the new account server and point the server builds to report to it as well. People would cry that its the end of the world for maybe two weeks and then everyone who really was interested in playing would be playing again.

My friend will be graduating from FullSail college soon, and he's going to try to get a job with EA. I'm interested to see how it works when they make a game like that, all non-tested and stuff.

This is such a bunch of corporate bullsheot. I work for the largest software company in the world and can see all the devs and designers at EA/Dice hating their jobs cause of unrealistic deadlines they put on them. I get this daily, they don’t care about user experience all they care about is hitting their numbers for the quarter. IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY… I’m about to quit my job cause I’m sick of putting out shotty work to make a deadline or loose my job to someone over seas, it’s f-n bull, trust me I’m sure the devs and designers at EA hate them as much as we do. Overworked and underpaid with no say what goes on, just make it how the big dogs say and if you don’t like it there is a line of people who want your job.

P.S. How many people do you think bought BF2? @59.95 A pop, multiply that by just 100,000. That's 6 million and i'm sure they sold way more then that. With 6 million on one game alone and they can't get it right? WTF is EA doing with all the cash they steal from us?

Will one of you whiners provide me with a complete list of the bugs that have ruined your BF2 lives? It's all I hear about yet I have not seen a bug that inhibits my gameplay experience at all.

What bugs? You can spend 5 minutes on this forum alone and find a dozen specific bugs that have been discussed to death. EA/Dice did release with bugs, EVERY title does (I challenge anyone to find a publisher/developer that says they released bug-free products).

The discussion here isn't whether there are bugs in BF2 but whether they are acting in good faith and being fair to their users and taking adequate steps to identify and resolve problems with their products before release.

Incidentally, I'm not a whiner but a qualified professional who has formally tested several types of software, from mpeg encoders to video/audio editors to PC/console games. I have played a fair amount of BF2 and can identify several bugs in the released product (and the subsequent patches) and I have not done any real testing. (professionally I would classify what exposed these bugs as 'ad hoc playtest').

Why does everyone keep saying they'll never read anything from Tom's Hardware again? Was there some scandal that I missed?

(This is a serious question. Being extraordinarily busy at work and in RL, I've been out of the loop for about the past year in regard to tech review sites. I'm assuming it can't be because of this article that people are saying that since that would be silly, so what gives? What did I miss?)

I'll tell you a bug.. Random Blank screens and then the whole computer restarting after about 5 to 10 seconds after the blank screen. It does this with BF:V as well!. IT DRIVES ME NUTS. NO other game does this at all! All EA want is the money. Thats it. But i love playin bf2, the gameplay is just sooooooooooo good. End result is

eh, i dont get this, people moan about a game being very buggy but no one forced you to rush out and buy it the day it came out and patchless, why not wait off abit and see what everyone says about it? then make your decision

i do find it highly annoying that two days after a new game comes out the forums are filled with, EA WTF? i'm gunna sue yoo (or my favourite) waa waaa i'm gunna return my game..

it seems everyone wants it to be perfect from day one but has that ever happend with a PC game? not to my knowledge, well saying that the only game that i have purchased in the last two years that i was able to play through from begging to end with no problems what so ever was doom3

Tom took bribes from Intel to pump their scores up vs AMD. This was about 2 years ago I think. The worst part was the total denial, and the attempted cover up - such as changing the article post release, banning users form the forums with even a mention of it, banning users who knew too much, etc. It got WAY out of hand, and I'm surprised the website lived it through.

The thing with bugs is that if you fix one, it tends to spawn more. A bug could occur because of testing.

I mean what if you spend ages fixing bugs then at literally the last minute a big bug shows up? You cant predict them all the time...thats why they bugs and not errors. So you have a massive bug on the day of release. Youre a major company with loads of money invested and everything set up ready to go. Publishers waiting. Banks loans or whatever. Intestors wating. Its not like you can just say "give it another day".

Plus apart from the slow menu..ive had no bugs...
