Helicopter Weak Point

I've been experimenting shooting helicopters in different areas with rockets to see if it's possible to destroy or at least set them on fire in one hit. I've hit the tail, the rotor, and in my experience, the best bet is to try to land it right on the pilot's face. Then, at least you have the chance to take him out, and have the chopper drift into the ground. You still get the kills for everyone on board.

But has anyone found a weak spot on helicopters?

When shooting down choppers while in my plane, I seem to damage them the fastest shooting at the main propeller, dead in the center on it's axis.

i either go for propellors(main or tail) or the pilot, if u can't seem to shoot it down, i just try and kill the passengers

Gren Launcher to the cockpit usually takes out the pilot and then it goes down. I just watched blackhawk down last night and I'm glad choppers aren't easy to take down, one hit to the rotor and it goes down like that.

I just tend to aim at the main body of the helo and it goes down with a few bursts from the main gun on a jet.

The weakest part I'd say is 2 places, the rear right after the opening in the black hawk, or the clockpit. The tail doesn't effect it much, and neither does hitting above or under it.

With the open choppers, I usually toss a nade round inside, takes the crew out, after that another oen and the chopper goes down.

With the closed choppers it takes 2 to 3 rounds. first round usually tends to make it smoke already! But then the chopper leaves most of the times! :cry:

The weakset point i think is the tail. One shot of the stinger in the heli and it's gone.

Hit it in the under belly,shooting from a tank it will be one shot kill on a cobra and 2 max for a bhawk.

I dont know about antitank missiles as I dont play as antitank.

The weak point on the chopper is the blocky part of the minigun. If you can hit that tiny area, the Blackhawk will start smoking. I have tested this myself using the AT rocket.

What I like to do is put together an entire AT squad of like 5 people. Then we hide in buildings like in Mashtuur City by the shrine flag. Then I count to 3 and we all fire at once, instant barrage and that chopper goes down no problem, its a great counter to tanks too. Just get a group of like 5 AT together and armor doesn't stand a chance.

Or you got hit by a tank round right before the AT rocket, or 2 AT rockets at nearly the same time... the stories of "We were full health and then suddenly we died..." do not take into account many factors.

I play Anti Tank almost all the time and I've spent a lot of time shooting at Blackhawks. I don't know why more people don't do it, last night I would get 3 or even 4 hits on a BH but it would then either fly off or finally shoot me, the engineers inside were what was keeping it alive. However if just one other person who knew how to fire an Anti Tank rocket would have helped me the BH would have been toast many times.

The other day I shot right up into the belly of a BH and it popped with 4 people inside but I believe it had been hit a few times before. The sad part was that it fell on me and crushed me :p

Dont bother, I herd something about this thing called "LAG" before, so i wouldnt worry to much. You can hit the front windshield but in reality you hit the tail rotor.
