You need a good pc to have it on the higher settings, but 2x is usually not a bad idea, since stuff can be REALLY jagged without any.

I thought that playing with more Anti-Aliensing would protect me from having my PC hijacked by extraterrestrials that sing lullabies.

you dont really need it if you can run at a high resolution, that in itself takes care of most of the jaggies and doesnt **** your ingame chat text up.

I can't play without it either... 4xAA makes things look about 400x better.
Text is just fine with it in this game...

post you're specs and we can tell you what it should be set on,
for example...6600gt & 9800pro/xt should be able to run 2x AA and anything higher than that should be able to run 4x AA with stable frame rates. Anything higher than 4x AA is really just overkill unless you have an absolute top of the line video card like an X850 xt/pe or 7800 gtx.
Edit- you should probably leave it off for best performance w/ that video card. fx5200 is getting a little dated in this time of age.

AA does not interfere with any of my text, even at 2xQOriginally posted by IVfluidsyou dont really need it if you can run at a high resolution, that in itself takes care of most of the jaggies and doesnt **** your ingame chat text up.

nice, they must have fixed that, I tried it out on BF42
C and BFV and it made the text look all crappy. not that i read much of what was going on in the chat box anyways though.
