Hehe, my girlfriend realized that no matter what she did, you can never separate a nerd from his/her computer. After trying for a few weeks, she gave up and broke up with me.

Of course, she just HAD to break up with me while I was in the middle of a match. God damn Bf2 minimized, >.<

Turned this one around on my wife after she kept lifting my headphones trying to talk to me. Buy here wine, burn her some movies, added cell phone to my plan for her to call her family in Chicago at night.
Now when she is busy on aforementioned wine, movies and cell phone I proceed to interupt and F^&% with her "how long ya gonna be?" "who ya talking to?" "why won't ya talk to me?" she says "come on dude I'm on the phone, not now."
there ya go...... and let it be when Imma gaming......
So she pretty much leaves me be.....
I help out with kids and cooking so there is balance which makes it easier when Imma up at night gaming.

I guess I am the Lucky one My Girlfriend actually Bought Bf2 for me and such because she knew I liked it but I usually play when she is at her place and will get off the thing when she needs me or comes over to do whatever.

I get the cold shoulder from my WIFE when I go to bed. Then when I get off she doesn't talk. I thought going out shopping for like 3 hours with her would at least add up to 3 hours when I get back home on BF2 NOPE.... But she is pretty cool about sometimes. She makes me happy. I love her to death though.

There are some great tips on this thread. Next time she's on the phone I'm gonna be all over her, lol. Would you believe that she made me watch 'the notebook' the other day? Probably the biggest waste of close to 3 hours in my life. A chick that cheats on her fiance and dumps him for an old boyfriend . . . now that's uplifting and makes me feel all warm inside

                    This is a hilarious thread!

I'm proud to say I'm too poor to have a girlfriend (my nerdy habits took care of that), though my parrots have their ways. They like to scream at me, and whine, and basically annoy the hell out of me. Solution: put them to bed

It's really annoying when my cat sits at my feet and stares up at me with eyes the size of a dinner plate...I just pitch her outside

I've been a long time lurker here, but I had to sign up to post in this one LOL.
Wife's newest tactic is sneaking up behind me and blinding me, but you can all do what I did. 1. buy her a TIVO or DVR, just realise you wont be able to watch TV anymore.
                      2. If your married like myself, just get her knocked up. MMV but mine was in bed by 8 or 8:30(being pregnant takes a lot out of ya). Now your gauranteed 7-8 months of gaming bliss. Watch out though what they say about pregnancy hormones is true!
(disclaimer to #2) Depending on Wife your gaming time can signifigantly decrease after the 7-8 months.

All women need to do is offer multiple 'roles' and give ribbons/awards for certain 'achievements.' : P

my wife is pretty cool about it, I must say. I have been a hardcore MP gamer since Medal of Honor several years ago, so she is used to it by now I am sure. heh. I just try to make sure I got everything done that needs to get done, and that my girls (4 1/2 and 8 ) are all situated & taken care of for the night.

I think it's a larger extension of the relationship's health to begin with. like, she's really happy and so am I, so, she's fine with me gaming it up on Ventrilo with my team dudes. the other thing I stress (and you other married dudes can use this and buy me a virtual beer ), is that:

"hey honey, I am HOME. My hobby keeps me home, where you know where I am. I am not out at the pub with friends, leering at other women, not drinking and driving, etc. I am home when you need me, not out golfing, or bowling, or playing cards and gambling."

                                she understands.
