SMG's are usually good enough for up to 100 m, but that is hardly the case in BF2. Oh well, if you work in a squad none of the "this weapon sucks" stuff matters anyways, it only comes in when you are trying to lone wolf, then you complain when you can't own some guy toting an M16 with your SMG.

The rocket doesn't work well vs infantry.

Oh, I beg to differ. Besides being able to guide the rocket, it's a one-shot kill against infantry. If I'm at close range though (and I have time), I'll switch to the DAO-12.

Basically It's safe to assume just about any ex-communist bloc weapon is a descendant of an AK 47, or in this case, its predecessors the Pepeshka 41 or 43.
