1 - binocs. Besides the usual advantages/uses, When using them to spot, a commander using an arty strike on an area being watched by a sniper has more accurate arty fire (ie. first shot will land on target)

mmm I dont play snipers much but I've never seen binocs.


I've yet to see a sniper used for something other than just rackin up points. They are only good for annoyin the other team an takin a couple guys away from the main fight as they search for him..

yeah, the we could be treated to some real camping. and, just think of all the flags they could cap from there, and all the help they would be to their team up there, all alone, just taking shots from 1000 miles away.

You must not know what a snipers roll is at all huh? Yes in real life Snipers are usually in teams of two, but do you really want to become a sniper spotter? In Desert Combat you would learn not to stand around at a flag because you'll probably get picked off by a sniper, thats the way it should be! You should be greatly afraid of snipers! Right now i don't give a crap about snipers because usually i'll get popped once and i can run away or hide.

All the idea's in this thread would be great! The current sniper is NERFED big time. Its incredibly difficult to get a one shot one kill which is what a sniper is all about. One shot to the center of the chest or face should mean death from a sniper rifle. I understand armor and all but most sniper bullets are probably armor peircing.

Also the Spec Ops and Snipers need Binocs really badly!

snipers need to be un nurfed... there so easy to spot especialy if there on top of a building... i take them out with a LMG... one thing they need to fix is the cliping ... like if your at the edge of a building you hang over the edge about half way... its so retarded...

I think snipers are fine the way they are in this game. If you gave them anymore they would be overpowered big time. I've been one shotted by snipers quite a few times. These guys are good at playing snipers. To make it an Unreal Tournament version would suck (One shot, one kill everytime you pull the trigger) because everybody and their dog would be playing Sniper. As has been said before, this game is far from being accurate, so that's no excuse.

No. Most "sniper bullets" are not armor peircing.
No. Snipers should not 1 shot kill on a chest shot or everyone will be a sniper. That is game breaking. It should be hard to get a head shot for the 1 shot kill. Why is that so hard to understand?

they should also sneak in a couple of smoke grenades to make a quick getaway if you are spotted or just make a ninja with a sniper riflea

If you want binocs, shoot all of your sniper ammo. Voila, a binoc with a crosshair.
Happens to me WAY too often.

As for the tree thing, when you bail from a chopper/jet, you could land in a tree. Happened to me once, but they saw my chute and I died :cry:

I guess you didn't pass reading very well. First i said CENTER of the chest, meaning a shot to the HEART. To most people thats a one shot one kill move and its what real snipers practice if they can't get a clear head shot to the bridge of the nose.

Hmmmm so your saying the .50 cal sniper rifle shouldn't be able to shred right through some support guys armor when the real weapon can take down humvee's and damage tank engines????????

I'm still blown away how many people suddenly FORGOT Desert Combat. The snipers there were USEFUL but not overpowered, even with the ability to one shot one kill.

I agree that its kool that if you hit someone in the helmet you won't kill them with the normal sniper rifle. But a .50 cal sniper rifle would literally tear a persons head off if it hit some soldiers helmet.......

Now I know that you really dont get it. Ill explain it in plain english so you can understand. You didnt say through the heart, you just said center of the chest, but who cares. NO ONE SHOT KILLS WITH ANY RIFLES! PERIOD! I dont care about real life. I dont care about how well a .50 cal round can penetrate a helmet, a flak jacket, or your moms twat. Its NOT a 1 shot kill weapon for GAME BALANCE. You get it now? Do you understand how that would IMBALANCE THE GAME. Dont give me this "through the heart" BS, you didnt put that up in the post and theres no reason for 2 1 shot kill hit boxes (not to mention a instakill hit box thats center of mass, idiot). What really would be nice is if the snipers could hit and kill their targets and 400+meters like in the real world. I don't how many times I have had to use 3-4 rounds to kill someone at that range and by the time I do kill him, his buddies are already on my trail. Funny the sound of the rifle travel further than the bullet. Just bullets for thought.
