wow it killed the 6600gt.

I take it you refer to the fps counts a couple of posts up. You will notice that that was at max rez and AA & AF. No one would run the 6600GT at those levels. I recon at 1024 x 768 with AA & AF off the marks for both cards would be a bit closer.

Personally I dont know why Radeon have even bothered to release this card as the X800 Pro is better and is currently very cheap + it has 12 pilelines not the 8 the X80GT has. The PCI-E X800 Pro is currently the best bang for buck PCI-E card the is at the moment, IMO that is.

That comparison chart is made by Powercolor and I'd give it zero value. If someone is really wanting to buy a X800GT 8-pipe card(which performs quite well being 8-pipe), wait for some _real_ test results. But keep in mind 16-pipe cards are going pretty cheap now that 7800 series have been launched.

IMO its nothing more than a bite back at nvidia,
ATi are basically saying "were making GT class cards, midrange" its this sort of confusion that helps sell cards, a newbie to pc hardware will see it has a GT moniker , see its cheaper than an nvidia GT class card and buy it...

thats all i think anyways, however i am a little wired today lol :p

The 128mb GT is the faster of the 2 6600 cards available. If they had used the slower 256mb version the differences would have been even worse. I dont put much faith in these stats though but thats besides the point =)
