Yea these guys are knocking it before practicing with it.

    1. Don't unload your entire clip at once, fire in bursts.
    2. Don't go prone at 200m with a sniper staring you down expecting to win the fight.
    3. Peek around a corner, see if enemies are coming. If they are.. move back about 10 feet, go prone and get ready for some easy kills.

The support kit is easily has the most stopping power in this game. In squad play, you can let your clips be used for suppressive fire to let your teammates advance.

Yeah man, i mean a MG when proned should ****ing rip a guy off man and like in bf2 the mg's have such MASSIVE recoil its crazy, the Guns! should have little to no recoil what so ever, u should be able to lay down and spray the hell out of someone like In DOD(Day Of Defeat) damn those MG are not ment to be ****ed with, and thats how bf2 should be...

        Agreed!

Now I cannot wait for the weekend so I can get my 3rd unlock and get the Support unlock. Support is amazing! I honestly was turned off to Support since a friend of mine complains all the time over Teamspeak that this gun has horrid accuracy and he does not understand why he cannot kill with it.

Over the last two nights all I have been using is Support and now I question why I never gave it a chance in the beginning. If you are a DAO-12 user, you will adjust to Support with ease since you will use your skills learned with CQC to apply it to using Support weapons and you will feel so confident. Trust me on this!

CQC experience + the Support kit and you will question like I did why you did not master this in the beginning.

Support weapons are fine. You are not Rambo, and that kit is not the M60/LAW combo. Stick to suppression fire and restocking your team. Anything more is grounds for a nerf-buff war.

            1. Maybe. I don't really have a problem with any support weapon right now. Increased accuracy when prone, on a gun with a huge magazine and unlimited ammo could be overpowered if tweaked wrong.

            2. No gun should have 1 hit = 1 kill capability. It would ruin balance and gameplay.

            3. Something like this should be applied to all guns, except maybe shotguns. Dolphin diving and firing while doing it with great accuracy is BS.

More accuracy when Prone would do it IMO. It sucks getting owned by every other class except sniper within 10m because they can fire faster and more more accurately. Not to mention it doesn't take 3 seconds to take out their gun (Talking about the PKM here).

But I understand the need for that. I never fire my weapon without either ironsights, or being crouched/prone, it's a waste of bullets.

I'd be cool with limiting field of fire to maybe 120-140 degrees or so so you can't just spin around with it. That would offset the accuracy increase. I can't imagine the amount of time I've been prone firing only short bursts at a line of guys running across an alleyway and hitting them maybe once or twice but no kills.

I agree with Mclaren (* about the DOD MGs, but they should not be that powerful, those were that powerful because most servers and maps only limited them to a few users. Maybe half the accuaracy of the DOD MG 42.

                  1. This isn't a rifle, it shouldn't act like one. Rifles fire bursts because they lose accuracy at full auto. Machine guns are supposed to fire with full auto and remain more accurate. Seems dumb to use a machine gun like a rifle...

                  3. I've been on the recieving end of this and in almost everycase I easily kill the support guy. All you have to do is jump/prone/straf anything and the support weapon is so inaccurate that despite being 5 feet away and spraying full auto I still walk away with points.

Try an experiment. Pick a corner that you know enemies will be coming around. Once you see someone start firing. (Suppressive fire) He'll have no trouble running right into the fire and lobbing a grenade/m203/firing back because the spray is going everywhere when it should be creating a line of death that if troopers try and cross will kill them. They don't suppress anyone. They look and sound good but they have no bite.

Say this to all the guys I killed with it in the last 2 nights. No bite?! Are you kidding me? More accuracy when prone? Sure, I'll take it and be even more deadly than I am now with the Support kit.

I honestly don't know what you expect the Devs are going to do with this weapon. I cannot see them increasing the damage since the high rate of fire can mow a man down in a second. The accuracy when prone I can only see them tweakng just a tad at best. They have to have a flaw with the kit or else everyone would be running around with Support and we would have a sprayfest like the noobs in the game now that only use the grenade launcher portion of their AK's or M16's with Assault and forget the thing fires bullets too.

I honestly hope we do not see too much of a change to Support. I don't need to see more players like me out there that are successful and deadly with the weapon.

I like the deployment idea, maybe 2.5 secs is too long but some time to lay down and plant the bipod would emphasize the fact that a support gunner should be looking for a good firing position where he's not going to have to move much in the first place (maybe make it so you go prone and it is as now, then you hit a 'deploy' button and your guy fusses around actually setting things up. That way you can also have him 'deploy' on walls/windows so supports can finally shoot out of buildings or over low walls without having to be on top of them) and it helps prevent the 'godmode' effect that becoming highly accurate might create. Currently, yes, you CAN go prone, sight in, and pick people off. Those people are busy with others, don't know where you are, or have no idea how to use their weapon. Killing snipers at 200m? Yeah, I've done it. In all the cases except where I've been exceptionally lucky it has been because they panicked (in their defense, having bullets fly through the catwalk you're perched on IS a little disconcerting), were busy with something else (like laying a claymore or looking around) or just couldn't shoot (it takes WAY longer to kill a sniper with an LMG than it should take any competent sniper to kill you, especially as you're a nice unmoving target).

The 'peek around the corner' trick is just BEGGING to get you 'naded while the guys you thought you were going to tear up are hopping around doging your fire. Basically, any time where you aren't actually concealed from the enemy you are toast unless they have bigger fish they're trying to fry. And, as for laying down cover fire, it doesn't work, because in order to be close enough to get any useful hits you'll not only be easy pickings but you will probably end up ou of position for supporting your squadmates anyway.

Being a walking ammo depot is nice enough, and when you find yourself a nice place to surprise people from you CAN get some decent kills, but the support guns are far from having an advantage over your average assault rifle (I have the PKM unlocked, and I really like it. But, if I could choose between the PKM and an assault rifle, even without a launcher on it, I'd take the assault rifle. I *still* have unlimited ammo for myself and my buddies, and now I can get a few quick kills, reaload, and get a few more quick kills in the time it takes now to get the first few kills).

Anyone that doesn't have that badge has downs syndrome. I've played it plenty and my squadmate uses it all the time. He loves it, but he'll be the first to tell you it pisses him off to no end. It's comicly inaccurate. That's the truth.

As the game leans towards arcade play, the support weapons are fine. The PKM is superb. At close range you can take out 3-6 people before they even realise were you are. Medium ranges, you can pick people off. Any more accurate and they'd own completely. The balance between the weapons is just about right.

keep the support weapon the same... then add in that you can set it up with the bypod thats already attached and have a 45 dagree arc of fire... but its way more accrute... you can go prone with out haveing to set up the bypod... any one whos played Wolfenstine Enemy Territory would know exactly what im talking about...
